I'd go with Colgan Hassell Kay Lewin Eckersley Devaney R Jones Togwell Howard Peter Steve I'd ask Eckersley to push forward as much as poss to make 5th midfield player, (Hassell, Kay and Lewin to play as a back 3 if necessary) allowing Howard more freedom to move inside and link up with the front two. If we're going to score, he needs to be more involved.
Eckersley is out with a groin strain. From Official site: REDS on loan full back Adam Eckersley will miss tomorrow night's clash with Hull City as he battles back from a groin problem. Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Oakwell physio Richard Kay said: "Adam missed last weekend's trip to Southampton with a slight groin strain. He has had the problem for a couple of weeks but it is something that he could probably play through until the end of the season but he would not be at 100 per cent. "We made the decision to take him out of training for a week or so to get it right and he should be back with the squad in time for the Stoke City trip next week".
RE: Heckingbottom Looks like we will be playing with 3 at the back then, constantly out of position on saturday and added nothing to the team going forward either.

For a split second the thought did enter my head, but then quickly, computer says no. Austin or Heckinbottom, even McCann, but not Williams.
RE: For a split second Austin for me, at least he can defend. No good going forward but at least he wont wander around the pitch aimlessly
RE: For a split second actually think he's better at left back than he is right back, but think he lacks pace, the first Wendies goal at home was a classic example. cant fault his commitment though, and against Hull in front of a reasonable crowd, maybe he's worth a go. more likely to replace Hassell when his suspension starts I'd think.
McCann is at least left-footed/ Not looked the most mobile so left back probably wouldnt suit.
He could play the role in the style of Ian Harte.

I'd go for the following, bearing in mind Eckersley is out for Hull game and other Poor defensive performances; Colgan Hassel Kay Nytanga Austin Devaney Togwell Howard McCann Steve Richards BENCH: Lucas, Jones, K. Reid, P. Reid, Peter. Oakwell was a fortress last season, half of the reason for that was because the same players were playing week in, week out. There is no consistincy through the side now which effects a teams performance on a large scale. Comments....
To put a consistent team out you need to know the best team, something Davey hasn't worked out yet. And have we had shed loads more loan signings this season to fit in than last year!?!?
This will be the line up:
Barbie

Red Power Ranger, Thomas the Tank Engine, He-Man

Action Man, Boris the spider, Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle), Cabbage Patch Kid

Optimus Prime (Transformer)

Care Bear, Pikachu

Subs:
4 Smurfs & Robbie Williams.

No chance of getting Bagpuss on loan in time ? Also think that the back four would be more settled with the experience of Ivor the Engine and Mr Spoon
A few points: The Smurfs & He-Man take our loan signings up to 5 ... so we can't field any more. Also - the entire cast of Button Moon have been banned after a drunken brawl during their mid-season break in Benidorm. Ivor the Engine has retired. He's our Manager, you gret Joeyspaz.
But, do we need to bring in new Loan players etc? We have been crying out all season, and proir to this season, for a couple of experienced players, notabley,a central defender. Bringing in a load of Below-par players and throwing them into the squad is asking for relegation. Yet a couple of experienced players into a consistent squad would surely be a better idea?
