    Really?

He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
    Always makes me laugh.

Suppose everyone has their own opinions though.

Boils down to the comment he released about our support of Leeds United's court case

Which infuriated me, even though we were to later find out it wasn't true. However the comments were attributed to Barry Taylor, denied by Gordon Shepherd, and no apology was seen anywhere.

Did you ever read anything in the aftermath that even touched on an apology?

Don't think I've ever felt as sorry for anyone football wise than Gordon Shepherd that day, he didn't have a clue good old Barry Taylor had sold him down the river!

But PC admitted that he would have supported Leeds' case.

Albeit reluctantly, and it was more to do with the principle of the matter (i.e. that clubs were being put into a no win situation) and the knowledge that it would happen to other clubs, which has proved to be true - Rotherham, Luton and Bournemouth amongst others.

It wasn't to do with the initial points deduction, it was all to do with the fact that the PFA were not prepared to make a compromise over their ruling that the players should be paid in full, which in turn led to the Inland Revenue making the same demands and hence declining the CVA, which led to the second points deduction.

So basically, until the PFA stands down, which they're never going to do, every team that falls into administration are going to lose the additional points, unless someone with a bottomless wallet steps in at the right moment. So I think I would also have reluctantly put myself behind Leeds on that one, because it could so easily have been us and it's a ruling that will put clubs in positions where they have little chance of staying up.

Of course, if we could instead protest about the stupid salaries that some of these players get and why they think they have the God given right to get paid in full, when the St John Ambulance and the tea ladies don't, I'd much rather put my weight behind that.

Just think, when we were in administration and we had a collection at the ground, all we were doing was paying the weekly wages for a reserve player (Mike Sheron). Makes you think doesn't it.
