I've looked at Skype, Virgin Media and Firstnumber? Skype looks good but you need to by a headset or phone. The cons, if you buy the cheap headset/phone (£13) you need a pc/broadband connection. But if buy the expensive one (£89) you do not need the PC switched on. Virgin Media do a deal but its £20 for 400minutes..... anytime anywhere Firstnumber - this looks like the best option but at the same time I don't exactly understand how it works...... whats the catch? how are they makning money? Mmmmmh..... any of you have any experience with this lot?
I use skype PC to PC connection, with speakers and a small mic ( no headset or phone) Have broadband connection Works brilliantly and totally free - use if for Aus and US and its always been crystal clear
With Virgin...... I have something called Talk International. This costs about £2 a month. But it then allows me to call almost any major country, USA, Oz, France, Spain etc for 2p per minute.
I've never used it yet though.

only problem is...... PC to PC....... you'd have to text e-mail to tell your mate, to tell em to switch their PC on so you can phone em!? or am I wrong?
I've got that I thought he was meaning making calls whilst abroad. It's £1.50 a month - I can't remember though if you have to nominate the countries you'll be calling. It's then 6p connection for the call and then 2p a minute.
Yep you are right But it works well for me - you can catch people and see them when they are online or email to arrange next chat.
