Barnsley are skint, the league is full of ***** numpty teams playing ***** numpty football. We cant afford to bring in bloody premier level players on gates of 7000 so Ritchie has to bring in players he feels can do a job playing in such a ***** league, we can all see that they wont hack it at a higher level but until and or if Ritchie gets us promoted it wont matter anyway. This season is our best chance to get out of this shithole league and we are sixth while having a quiet spell but on our day we can knock seven bells out of most teams in this league. with a push we are still close enough to get an automatic spot, why cant everybody just get behind the team and be happy that we are in the promotion shakeup...we dont have the players to play like brasil and I will take 1-0 wins ground out every week until we get promoted if thats what it takes. Rant over..Be happy folks BT
I'll go along with that sir Like to see us get another centreback in though, Carbon misses way too many games. Not gonna be Watt on loan, he's gone to Swansea. Swansea gonna piss this league now, if they can keep Trundle from the clutches of bigger clubs (I know he's injured) but him and Leon Knight will score goals for fun, title sewn up.
But then again I think Swansea and Cardiff should be made to play in a league in their own sheep shagging country. It'd stop their clubs idiots coming over to England every other week 'To have a pop at the English'
Right I'll have a go at this What I expect from our team is some kind of consistency, you rightly say that on our day we can demolish most teams well that says there is something wrong in the set up somewhere because those bloody days do'nt happpen very often.I expect a team that can pass a ball accurately for more than 3 yards most of the time and do not keep humping it forwards hoping for the best.A team that will have a few shots on target and not be scared to have a go at goal with some degree of accuracy (note not tamely poking it at the middle of the goal from good positions).Players who will run their hearts out,not let their heads go down first time something goes wrong (felt sorry for Wright last night missed a good chance early on but continued to give it his all and kept getting in good positions and ran himself into the ground for the cause)and not watch opposition players take as much time on the ball as they want, a team that will push out from the back not sit and wait for the opposition to come straight back at them.Could go on but I'll not,
RE: Right I'll have a go at this Now that is probably the most realistic post that this board has seen for some time. Thank you!
RE: Right I'll have a go at this Realistic? What would be realistic is if people recognised that there are 2 teams trying to win the game. What would be realistic if if people recognised their own teams weaknesses and the efforts of the players and management to cover those weaknesses. People critisise the players, but if they were as good as they think that they should be in order to be worthy of playing for the mighty reds, they would be playing at a higher level than this godforsaken division, where mediocrity grinds out skill. I read constantly what a poor defence we have, and yet we concede very few goals. How can this be? Answer - they cover for one another and work to stop the opposition scoring. This means that we are less efficient going forward. Proof - we have scored 5 goals twice this season. In those games we also conceded 2 and 3. Entertaining maybe, but effective, I doubt it.
RE: Right I'll have a go at this Which games this season did you get most satisfaction from, the ones where we scored 5 goals and won or the ones where we scored none and drew or one and drew or one and scraped a win with everyones heart in their mouth until the final whistle went? I know which ones did it for me!
RE: Right I'll have a go at this Frankly, I don't care how we play, so long as we get out of this god awful league.
RE: Right I'll have a go at this Yeah but the Scunny game was never in doubt. We conceded at 4-0 and 5-1 so that hardly worries me.
