What the hell is going on?

    After the Plymouth game at the end of last season when Simon Davey was talking of us signing "quality not qauntity" and us needing to "hit the ground running" come August, I was actually becoming optimistic about us finally establishing ourselves in the Championship. I actually believed that with his job on the line Davey was going to make positive strides over the summer to really improve the squad.
    June came and went without a sniff of a decent signing, then the window opened on July 1st and....nothing. I've just returned from two weeks holiday abroad and guess what....still nothing. Don't give me all this terrific unbeaten pre-season crap because it means nothing. From 3pm Saturday is what counts. We are entering into the new season with the weakest squad imagineable and I just can't understand what the hell is going on? We have no cover at centre half, not natural left back (again), no cover out wide, no goal threat from midfield and a shot-shy strikeforce.
    Davey's policy has always to keep quiet about possible signings but now he's doing exactly the opposite. Well it hasn't exactly worked so far has it? He waxed lyrical about Charlie Adam and how desperate he was to sign him as he would bring a "winning mentality to the club". We put in a derisory bid when we knew what the asking price was and lo and behold he signs for Blackpool....fookin BLACKPOOL. A club with a two sided ground and a fanbase less than two thirds of ours.
    We've openly persued Andy Gray and Adam Hammill all bloody summer and nothing has happened. Do we have any back up deals lined up then Simon? We'll be lucky if we pick up a couple of loanees at the end of August or maybe another couple of unknown imports.
    I have tickets for Hillsborough on Saturday and should be looking forward to the new season but instead I'm concerned we will once again be battling relegation before we're into September.
    Something at our club is not right........

    Totally agree. That's what i've been saying all summer but been slated for it. The Davey love club are out now we've had a couple of win's in pre-season.

    Odejayi is supposedly this world beater who is now the new Fernando Torres, it doesn't wash with me. I doubt he'll score 5-8 goal's this season. He just isn't good enough.

    I too have tickets for Saturday but i'm extremely worried also :'(.

    We don't talk about signings until they are done and dusted.

    This season we talk about signings and how close they are, in particular one all the fans want and we sell more season tickets than we have for ages,
    and we sign .................?????

    I've been thinking about what is wrong for a long time and come to the conclusion that

    IT'S SIMON DAVEY!

    HE IS A TOTAL WASTE OF SPACE!

    Yawn, standard reply!

    I am not the manager of Barnsley FC therefore i don't have to do anything. I make sure i do my jobb to the best of my ability and the best for my firm. Davey has not managed (persuaded) to get players to come to our club therefore he has done a poor job.

    well kayo what his it like to be a reds player. well ive had rasist attacks and constatly get things said to me. well colace what his it like to be a barnsley player. well people where on at me before i even signed a contract. same to steele. people got on to me saying i wasnt good enough for the club. i could go on.

    Because its only Barnsley fans that are Racist eh?

    IT happens at every and I mean every ground in the country, but lets have a go at our fans for it. FFS !!!!

    I am not condoning racism at all, by the way, just saying its not just our fans that do it.
    Remember the "Keep Racism out of Football" is that only at Oakwell then?
