Leeds Also....... had nothing to play for like us. But they went to a play off team like us and did very well.
RE: Leeds Also....... you know when next sesaon's fixtures come out... look at the Championship fixtures you'll see a team called Barnsley there, but there'll be no Leeds. Then tell me if you care about who did what in the last match of the 06/07 season. This is where the hard work starts during this close season, we'll see when we kick the first ball of next season what investment has been made and what the likely prospects are for us next season.
Also we will start on the same points as all the other clubs so how we performed this year doesn't matter except for the fact we stayed up.

RE: Leeds Also....... So that makes it OK for todays humiliation does it?I for one cared that we were seen to be a capable and professional outfit that tried for the fans and other teams fighting for the play offs.Piss poor is what we got and quite frankly it wotrries me.
PMSL!!!! A season based on one game - they had almost their strongest team possible there - we had a lot of inexperience in our side. Looking at the result they may wonder why they haven't survived, but any of those three teams fans with half a brain would realise that we had a weakened team out there.
What about when we got promoted to the Premier League in 96/97? Oxford smashe dus 5-1 after we had al;ready clinched promotion. Our players didn't give a stuff that day - Danny Wilson gave them the week off, so no training was involved, no tactics discussed, nothing. Who cared? Nobody - because little Barnsley had already earned the right to play in the Premiership over the previous 45 games. Wolves et al quite simply, didn't.

RE: Leeds Also....... No it doesn't make it ok but in the greater scheme of things it's not that important. If it was the first match of 07/08 season then that would be a different matter.
What did they do? Luton lost 5-0 at home and Southend lost 4-1 at Southampton. As for Leeds a Derby side that rarely scores more than one stuck 2 past them.
a Derby side with nothing to play for didnt want to risk their players for the play offs, to-day wasnt a disaster, bout time some of you dickheads grew up and stopped this pathetic critism when weve done the job we set out to do and stayed up
Of course it can!!! An end of season meaningless match is exactly that! Our job had been done - on both occasions! All we wanted at the start of this season was survival - we achieved that with 1 game to spare. Ha di been offered that at the start of the season, followed by a 7-0 drubbing in the last game i'd have snatched your hand off.
