If this high energy particle accelerator does produce a "Black Hole" we could all be gone in 0.12 seconds.

Now I know why Scientist are called "Mad".

All the Earth would be sucked into a space smaller than a pea. I think?

If we're all going to die?....

How come the same newspaper was advertising half price holidays 8 pages on? There's no point in booking the blighters is there? :pff Anyhow..... it's so serious that it was only on page 12 (or summat like that) whilst the major news was Harry's bird getting pissed somewhere (chinny)

Well at least we wont get relegated this season then

Not quite sure enough on the science but the idea of creating a black hole by smashing two particles togeter seems a bit far fetched.

Where does the .12 seconds come from? worst case I saw was 4 years on some artice

I thought I had seen 0.12 seconds in one of the papers.

If it's 4 years thats a slower death than I would like! :'(

    not a chance on wednesday

its the first time they are going to fire atoms all the way around in a single direction - no collisions and at very low energy. As they test all the equipment and check the magnets are routing the beams proprly they will gradually increase the power. be at least a couple of years before they are anywhere near full power - getting ready for 2012! ;)
