That's a very terse announcement. Have they been undermining Danny? Is it just the beginning of cost-cutting now we've realised relegation is inevitable? Does it mean we go forward with Danny having more control (please)? Will Danny get an immediate contract extension? Does it send a signal to the Hillcroft recruits? Is it part of a last-ditch effort to rescue the season, or the start of the rebuild? I'd love to know more about this.
I can't imagine for a second it's aligned to staying up this season. I think the board realise we're sunk, and the planning for League 1 starts here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
one last throw of the dice imho. Last nights results were another nail in the coffin. In fact the comment i posted last night about Mellon lining the nails up and Wilson hammering them in could be spookily true if hes been undermining him. Looking for a reaction on saturday now. Id be pleased with Eaden as assistant but whos to say he will get an assistant?
Why would Mellon undermine Danny.Danny is the boss and agreed to work with M.M and at the time saying how much Mellon is experienced and respected in the game.I can't see anything sinister in todays developments. If he thinks things weren't working and he thought a change may be a way forward he's done the right thing.Lets not try to make out things that aren't there.By the way good luck M.M and I hope you continue to have a good career in football.
seems to me the **** has hit the fan good and proper for whatever reason,i also think danny will be with us next season regardless of what happens this.its not reyt often you see an assistant sacked.
That plan has worked consistently well over the last 15 years+ hasn't it. We need stability and Danny staying would give us that. Think we need to try a different tactic me'sen.
The biggest thing we need right now is the players shaking out of their letharhgy and starting to graft and to concentrate. Danny will tell them some home truths. If Micky is still peddling his mate's "special people" line (and he specifically said that during his caretaker tenure) then we need to disabuse the players of that notion. Probably too late this season - in which case I'd terminate the entire squad (or at least their contracts) and let Danny rebuild.
Living in the past with Wilson. Uninspired tactics and motivational skill will have the fans deserting in droves.
POOR appointment at the time.Wilson has changed very little.Tactics are inept.Hope he goes in the Summer. We will be in League one for the foreseeable future.
An owner trying to sell will be reluctant to dole out a contract to a manager. PC will not have a long term plan.
I interpreted the Ben audioboo it was DWs decision and the board have backed him. Could be for one of many reason. DW meeting RSheff tomoro. So we'll maybe be a bit more ITK?!?
Wilson wasn't my choice of manager but as always we should back the manager.however tactics and team selection are a big concern the biggest one IMO was the substitution of Chris O'Grady at Wendy and the total ignoring of cywfca .
I read it as Wilson has finally got what he always wanted and after reluctantly agreeing to put up with the flitcroft era ***** in the management team after being knocked back for bringing his own men in he has now reminded the board quite forcefully that he is working with his hands tied behind his back whilever he has to work with people like mellon and that is why the board have now done what they should have done months ago.
