Because from the coventry match I think its pretty clear we haven't done any work on defending set pieces, nobody knew where to stand at all and that wasn't just in the one that went in it was on other free kicks too. We kept leaving different players up the pitch when we defended corners too so thats not exactly a well planned set up is it.
When we had free kicks we just aimlessly punted the ball down the middle same as we always do, no creativity at all and we very rarely do anything from our free kicks. Same free kicks now as we were doing at wembley two years ago is simply not good enough and shows absolutely no progression in the last 2 seasons.
What about our corners? Well lets not mention them shall we, We don't seem to have a clue who takes them, one minute its JCR, the next its butterfield and now its hammill.
Throw-ins? **** me, is simon daveys total tactics from throw-ins to merely identify the tallest player in the barnsley side, get him to stand on the touchline about 20 or 30 yards from where the throw-in takes place and throw the ball to his head and hope he wins it even if hes being marked by a much taller player? Its the only tactic we ever try and exactly how much success have we had with it? Coventry were varying their throw-ins, choosing a player and looking at where they could then go with the ball while we were chucking it down the wing and hoping the tall striker would head it to erm well **** knows because we dont have anyone in a position to recieve it even if they did win the header.
Not good enough mr davey, you've let yourself down in pre season by not getting the basics sorted out

Oh yes I loved having spent 300 quid to watch absolute ***** again. Really enjoyed wasting my saturday watching yet another simon davey masterclass in how to avoid having any hope at all of winning a football match. Davey was trying to defend a one nill deficit in the game on saturday and nobody can justify that
Yes he was at 1-0 down he moved our winger to right back. If we were trying to score a goal to get us back into it he would have gone 3 at the back and played attacking football, instead we went down to 10 men and he moved our attacking player to right back to help protect the defeat
RE: Yes he was Piece of piss football management really.
Down to 10 men, losing with about 25 minutes to go - in reality the best you're looking at is salvaging a draw - hence try and keep your formation/shape and not concede again - unfortunately we got caught late on - JCR got forward after we went down to 10 men just as much as before. Davey swapped the strikers around to try and give us fresh impetus and it didn't work.
But if you want to think everything Davey does is designed to get at you then carry on.
