I recall a cup match against Leicester some years ago, before floodlights when there were 30,000 plus

I remember we were that tightly packed I could'nt get my fags out of my pocket.

Has anybody got a source for the old attendance figures ???

The Everton game,1989,was the biggest crowd recently and it was a tight squeeze.

But then again Southall was in the ground so that limited the room for everyone else.

    Sharp 11th or 19th minute goal, 32,000....

Futcher long range shot, crowd in the ground quite early, Lyon Cakes, Kop end rammed people stood on the little pie hut, that picture in the mount near the fire door.

Thats my complete memory of that day.

Man City. league Cup 1981.. 33000+

Trevor Aylott header from an Ian Banks rross 1-0. Packed in tighter than sardines. Only room was in the City end they brought about 2.5 to 3000.

The game I remember was against Leicester in the cup

It would be around 1958 1959 and it was the replay at Oakwell we had
been to Leicester and drawn this was the second leg mid week

I remember all the local industry closed down for the afternoon and I
had a lake day to go. Think we lost by the odd goal.

Leicester game was 1961 crowd 39200ish lost 1-0 was it Ken Leek who scored. Was at Broadway school we "threatened" to go on strike if we didn't get the afternoon off.

Thats what my cousin said. Out of the blue he just turned to me and said, "**** me that Southall is a right fat lovely person, i've never been so squashed". :D :D
