BBC are asking what was your first kit "#myfirstfootballkit

Mine I have to admit was Coventrys Green and Black striped kit sometime in the 70's. That was a time for the garish strips that were about and I seemed to have my fair share of them. Palaces white with Red and Blue slash. Ostend Red and Green Striped., Birminghams 3rd strip Red, Black and Yellow thirds!

Never managed Coventrys brown strip though!

Barnsley home kit with 'Taits' emblazoned across the front. Loved it.

Bought a shirt every season since I was about 10. Only ever bought BFC shirts myself but I've had Man Utd shirts bought for me by family when I was younger. I seem to buy more BFC away shirts than home

I think it was the legendary 'stars and stripes' kit. That was certainly my first season as a fan anyway.

Got a couple of other 'Beaver' made kits knocking about in the basement somewhere.

I've still got all my old Reds kits, including the first one which is from 1980. As I was only 11 then it no longer fits me. Actually, I don't think any of the shirts I bought in my 20s fit me any more either. D'oh!

Red with white trim rarnd neck and cuffs it doubled as most other teams shirts that played in red inc Man Utd.

Could wear it dreaming of being Bobby Charlton in the morning and Barrie Thomas after dinner.

    Before sponsored shirts like.

First football shirts I had were usually presents from relatives. I ended up with a white Man Utd shirt, a red Liverpool shirt with Crown Paints on it, a Barcelona shirt with Sanchez on the back, and the Italia 90 England shirt.

First BFC shirt had Hayselden on, that's all I remember.

Favourite shirt I ever had was a Gazza Lazio one. It's at r old boys somewhere.

Mine was the Gola one with the Hayselden sponsor that didn't appear on the shirt until Octoberish.

I got it the day it was released and wore it for Junior school the next day over a jumper to show it off.

    I had the generic

Red shirt with white collar and cuffs. But this was in the 1960's when most clubs had a generic strip, with no identifiable markings other than a club badge/crest. These could be bought separately and sewn on.
