What went wrong for us last season was

    the introduction into the team in December of Marciano Van Homoet. Up until this point we were flying high in the league and everything was looking rosy. Then the Dutch maestro started getting picked and it was rapid decline in results and a plummet down the table. In his first 14 league games for us we won 1 drew 6 and lost 7. The guy's a ******* jinx!

    Maybe he's not an orthodox full back, in the same way that Werling mysteriously is our answer to the left hand side of midfield.</p>

    unless you are being deliberately obtuse. You could just as well point out that he played in the wins against Chelsea and those at Watford and Preston which undoubtedly kept us in this division-it's a team game</p>

    If you examine things more closely there is a distinct but inverse relationship between our league form and our cup run</p>

    I thought it started to go wrong the night we failed to score at home to palace. Home wins were turned into draws and away form was *****. Cup started beginning of January.
