He committed the shocking abuse over a 30-year period, fathering nine children with his daughters, Sheffield Crown Court heard. Two died on the day they were born and the other babies were lost either through miscarriages or abortions. The dad pleaded guilty to nine rapes and two indecent assaults against his elder daughter, and 16 rapes and two indecent assaults against her younger sister. The abuse was carried out between October 1979 and February this year. He denied an indecent assault against each of them, as well as a rape against his younger daughter, when they were each aged under 10. These charges will lie on the file to spare his victims the trauma of a trial. Nicholas Campbell QC, prosecuting, said: "These charges represent a course of conduct and these pleas of guilty embrace the causing of 19 pregnancies - seven to his older daughter, and 12 to his younger daughter. "From these pregnancies there are seven children alive today. Two children died on the day they were born, there were many miscarriages, and several abortions when clear disabilities were found upon screening. "The seven surviving children each have their own difficulties - two of them are very severely incapacitated, and one has been diagnosed with a fatal condition." The man accepted he was the father of the nine children and was "probably" the father of the remaining unborn children. Recorder of Sheffield Judge Alan Goldsack QC said: "He accepts grooming them from pre-puberty, and raping them from then through until their 30s." James Baird, defending, said a psychiatrist's report showed the man was not suffering from any mental illness. But the case was adjourned for sentencing so reports and other evidence could be put before the court. Mr Campbell said this would include medical evidence about the poor health and quality of life of two of his most ill children, as well as a geneticist, and the involvement of social services. He said: "It seems clear from the medical evidence that the mix of the DNA of this particular defendant with that of both of his daughters from very early days showed that damage would be caused to their off-spring. "After that damage became obvious, he still went on impregnating his daughters." The man was remanded in custody until Tuesday November 25 when he will be brought back to court for sentence.

I know why I'm online at this time, it's only 17:24 and ... ... I'm still at work, waiting for a backup to finish. Do you work nights Windy, or just stay up late on school nights. Not sure if you remember me. My brother and I joined you for a quiz night many years ago in Old Town.
Sentence him to the worst possible punishment. To serve a life sentence in Sheffield. He's over half way through his stretch already.
Not sure I could come up with a printable, ladylike reply. How can something like that have gone on for so long without alarm bells ringing, especially seeing as some of the children have genetic defects? How's about castration without an anaesthetic or follow up pain relief? Being sent to prison without the comfort zone of being kept away from other inmates is the least he deserves.
I was just about to type the very same thing The authorities deserve locking up as much as he does.
How this went unnoticed for 30 years is unbelievable

Agree, something very wrong with the system. Someone, somewhere should have known or at least suspected that something wasn't right and set the wheels in motion to look into the case.
Burn the f*cker alive and use the heat to power homes / industry etc or leathal injection and donate his body parts.....liver / heart / etc etc etc
BRING BACK THE ROPE MATE..............

Knackers off with two housebricks thrown to a pack of rabid dogs, burnt at the stake on a bonfire. and the dee dars call us inbred.
I cannot put into words my feelings for this man, and the system that allowed it to continue! It's absolutely diabolical that this was allowed to go on for so long. Why wasn't it stopped? Those poor girls and their children. I really despair at the world sometimes.

At Sheffield Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to 25 counts of rape and four counts of indecent assault against the two girls, carried out between October 1979 and February this year. The father, who cannot be named, denied a charge of rape against the youngest daughter and counts of indecent assault against her and her sister when each was aged under 10. Those charges will lie on file to prevent the daughters having to give evidence at trial. Outside court the elder daughter said: "He started touching me when I was about five. It was going on for years but I didn't know my younger sister was also being abused until much later. "I am having to try and tell my kids, but it is going to be very difficult. "He can rot in hell. But despite being born out of hate we love our kids and always will." The case draws parallels with that of Joseph Fritzl, 74, who will stand trial next year accused of keeping his daughter Elisabeth locked up in a dungeon in Amstetten, Austria, for 24 years, fathering her seven children. Last night Sheffield Brightside MP and former Home Secretary David Blunkett told the Yorkshire Post he was demanding an investigation. He said: "This is extraordinary. There will obviously be an investigation but this should focus broadly on a wide area of responsibility." Mr Blunkett said that should not be constrained to social services but should be widened to all support groups that should have worked with the family, including education services. "Who knew, what they knew and above all what they did about it has to be at the top of the agenda," he added. Sheffield Hillsborough MP Angela Smith said: "I think there needs to be a quick and thorough investigation of how this man was allowed to get away with abusing his daughters over a 30-year period. "Answers need to be found and lessons need to be learnt by social services and other organisations on why this man got away with fathering so many children from his daughters. It's hard to believe no one picked up what was happening in this family. "My thoughts are with his two daughters and their children who have suffered so much for so long. They will need intensive support for a considerable period of time if they are to stand any chance at all of coming to terms with what they have suffered." Last night Sheffield Council's executive director for young people, Sonia Sharp, said: "Since the disclosure of these awful crimes our priority, in partnership with all agencies, has been working with the victims and their families to give them the support and care that they need. "We roundly condemn all forms of abuse, especially those which have an effect on children, and have fully supported the police investigation into this case. "As is usual in exceptional cases of this kind, the local authorities and other agencies will be reviewing their contact with the family to identify whether there are any lessons to be learned." It is believed that the 56-year-old, who is thought to be an alcoholic, regularly moved his family around to avoid attracting the suspicions of local authorities, and most of the nine children were not born in Sheffield, where the family has lived for several years. The two daughters had attended school, and it is understood that the abuse may have come to light when one of the family developed a relationship. The review will involve all councils, police forces and health services serving communities where the family have been based. Of the 19 pregnancies, seven were to the elder daughter and 12 to the younger. Seven children are alive today, two died on the day they were born while many others were miscarried and several were aborted when disabilities were found upon screening. Of the seven surviving children two are very severely incapacitated and one has been diagnosed with a fatal condition. A psychiatrist's report placed before court showed the father was not suffering from any mental illness. Further reports have been commissioned into the poor health and quality of life of the two most ill children, as well as an investigation into the role of social services. The father will be sentenced on November 25.
