I'm gonna go for my usual home bet....... That's 3 - 1 to the Reds. 1 -1 at half time. A double for Nads after an opener from Hayes on his home debut.
The only bet I'm having... Is that someone near me will call Shuker 'our most skilful player' after watching him almost trap the ball and nearly look like considering taking on their fullback.
I'll have some of that, along with... same player (oooh, I am a bully).. 1. dribbling the ball out of play..once every match. 2. having acres of space to cross the ball before kicking it to whichever defender is at the front post, knee height 3. coming very very close (without actually) to tackling somebody 4. being made MOTM by rich numpty in scoreless draw for "running about alot" and/or "showing some passion". I'd go on, but even I'm bored. Why oh why couldn't Tranmere or Oldham top our wage offer?????????
oh, and perennial favourite... knocks ball past fullback, has 3 yards on him, yet is overtaken within another 3 despite full back having to turn round and run. And my dad calling him "the fastest player we have". Let's hope he scores and everyone in the East Upper rubs my head in pea brained delight. Like they did the last (only?) time he scored..
RE: oh, and perennial favourite... And the way people point to his 'great crossing'. Which in effect amounts to one half decent one per game, or a bad one that their defender really should have dealt with but slipped.
you should try not going... then you'd brick it you're missing the next Stanley Matthews. And now I've every pre-season guide telling me he's our star man (whilst simultaneously ruling us out of a promotion bid, natch)
RE: you should try not going... It's even more painful when you go and still people tell you he's like Stanley Matthews...
Hull and Leeds games he was a total embarassment, saving himself for the real kick-off I hope. Luckily we appear to have his twin brother in the Juniors. He is equally inept , though manages to be played in central midfield.
If we tempt fate enough will he score? or deliver ONE decent chance to Nardiello. Or b) cut inside yet again cos there's a big nasty full back in front of him.
