“I don’t think it’s the worst we’ve seen, at the moment it’s very difficult to explain why we showed this performance. We tried, but it just didn’t happen. Please tell me DS taking piss with this remark It’s worst I’ve seen us play for years
Don't forget he looks at a game totally differently to how we look at it. He assesses it critically, we assess it emotionally.
Come on be realistic as a manager is he going to say in public Lads that was ***** . He as to get the best out of these young lads and unfortunately were going to have more bad games than good with them lacking experience. I have every confidence in our head coach however my concerns are same as Stendals we are missing some experience . He knows that hence not slagging them off in public.
Is this the first dig at Stendel this season? If we do struggle I wonder if he will come in for more like Hecky did.
God almighty Shrewsbury away was skank! That remains one of the most miserable nights of my life. Last night was close, but nothing quite matches the complete lack of professionalism and commitment I saw that night.
I was thinking about when I'd last seen such a bad performance during the match last night and Shrewsbury came to mind for me too. We were awful that night too.
Some people have Altrincham to reference here but Shrewsbury is mine. Awful trip down on a Tuesday night, had to walk down this narrow footpath inbetween the home end and some road fenced in. Got sat down and was treated to a terrible 90 minutes where every time Shrewsbury scored the home fans closest to us was more intent on rubbing it in our faces than celebrating a goal. Oh and Dougall got crippled which was great. Just great.
Fecking hell, let's not start on Daniel after an admittedly bad week. If we are going to start dissecting everything he says after 2 defeats and looking for things to be annoyed at then we are out of order.
He is managing a group of young lads the last head coach who slated the young lads in public and passing the book to them every week ended up just knocking their confidence.
When I think of how bad we were at Wycombe and Coventry I have to wonder how the hell we got an automatic promotion!! But here’s the thing. We did.
Fully agree. Any Coach/Manager should in time, get to know what makes each of his players "tick" and should quickly get an instinct as to which of them he can give a rollicking to and those that he needs to put an arm around and have a word in private with. Shouting and bawling and throwing tea cups around, solves absolutely nothing
My main question last night was what formation were we playing. It looked like 424 which is seldom seen these days. The back four and granted 3 of them were poor had no body in front of them.Styles ok,mcgeegan very poor in midfield. And then 4 up front who huffed and puffed all night. Was it an experiment that went wrong.Hope so.
Burton away last season was poor as well, they must have got a kick up the backside after, cos we won 4 on the spin and secured 2nd place.
Correct...and that's because in the long run the team were good enough. We don't have a god given right to win every game, we don't have a god given right to play all levels of opposition off the park. We have an occasional stinker All clubs do We did last night...so what? We move on and support our team of new arrivals as they gel together in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Give them some time and believe that Daniel is good enough to pick the players up after that showing. Remember the 6-0 loss at home to Charlton not so long back? Reds team applauded off the pitch-after such a heavy defeat...would be nice to see that level of support on Saturday ) ironically Charlton)
Oh aye, nearly forgot that one (I have a selective memory, I don't like remembering bad things). So we owe them one for that defeat anyway.
