not one of the players who made it onto the pitch decided beforehand to have a poor game
Huddersfield had done their homework and stuck to their game plan-although towards the end they did tire so allowing us more space
We only played as well as we were allowed to
Can Ritchie come up with a game plan for Monday -we'll have to wait and see
Personally I would put Hassell back at CB if as I suspect Carbon's still unfit-and even go 3-5-2

I would not play Reid. He's played against Booth twice at home and has virtually failed to get to grips with him all match. I think we will have to go more attacking, but it's a big risk. Perhaps Ricthie needs to do the unexpected
Kay was marking booth not reid but saying that both centre half were poor, even graham was winning headers in the 1st half. Both Kay and Reid looked sh*t scared all night and it didn't help them having Heckingbottom at the side of them, give him some big shoes and paint his face and call him a clown.
RE: Kay was marking booth not reid Maybe I saw it wrong, but most times, certainly from set pieces, Reid was with Booth. Hecko has been v poor imho. Cost us at least seven goals since he joined.
RE: Kay was marking booth not reid im sure it was kay cos im not his biggest fan and i couldnt believe we were letting him mark Booth. Someone should have clattered him in the first 5 mins to let him know they were there instead of pussy footing around him.
Heckingbottom's main fault IMHO is that he drifts inside too much and is out of position so leaving too much space for the winger and too much defending for Devaney to do-I want full backs to stay in the area between the sideline and the edge of the 18 yd box-the CB's should deal with everything in the width if the 18 yd box
it was mainly Kay was marking Booth the ref talked to them both at one point because of some off the ball jostling
reid was marking booth in the first half and he didnt win a header against him for the entire first half. In fact he didnt challenge for them, he just tried standing behind booth and winning the second ball (ritchies tactis maybe? he's said before not to challenge booth) that changed in the second half when huddersfield swapped their strikers round, booth moved over to kay's side.
agreed he is a crock. Instead we let him dance into the box to create their goal. I've more pace than him and I'm 17 stone
robbie williams to start on monday? or stick dale tonge on the left?
either way heckingbottom would be sat on the bench because he isn't good enough. He simply can't defend and i'm yet to see this great attacking play from him that i hear he is so good at.

If that's where the full-back stayed then they'd be opened up more regularly You don't defend 'wide', you defend as a 'narrow' unit, which means the opposition have to get round rather than through. A full back being pulled out wide is susceptible to a diagonal ball played in behind him.
problem is that you cant do that against teams like huddersfield defending narrow just invites crosses which we cant deal with against booth
RE: If that's where the full-back stayed then they'd be opened up more regularly but if the full ack wanders inside leaving huge gaps for their winger how is that effective-I don't want him hugging the touchline-just staying on the edge of the box will do
RE: If that's where the full-back stayed then they'd be opened up more regularly I think staying narrow is best, as long as he moves out wide when the ball is coming. It does require the player to be able to read the game....
