Whatever slant you want to put on tonight's performance - you have to accept

Conceding four goals in 18 minutes, and five in 37, to anybody, is by any standards, absolutely shocking.

And especially after leading two goals to nil.

 

add to that the 3 in under 10 minutes at Peterborough

and yes you really have to question our defensive qualities

 

That's what is the most worrying aspect for me too; three goals in six minutes at Posh then five today.

 

What concerns me most is

If you are a crap team, losing week in week out, conceding 5 goals is bad enough, but probably not surprising.

Losing seven on the bounce, near the foot of the table, and conceding 5 is probably no big deal either.

Then, playing a side closing in on the playoffs and going in at half time 2 down is probably expected.

But to come out for the second half and destroy the opposition in such a stormer is truly incredible.

Fair play to Ipswich, but how do two such polarised team scenarios develop into something like that in just twenty minutes?

 

We haven't been playing with Perks, Drinkwater and Butterfield in the midfield in a lot of that though. We need all 3 in there.
