Interview with Patrick Cryne -very interesting on managers' perceptions of BarnsleyFC we are seen as a no-go area due to rapid turnover of managers!
RE: Interview with Patrick Cryne -very interesting on managers' perceptions of BarnsleyFC
So he's saying that he wants stability and therefore Davey's job is double safe?
What else has he said?

RE: Interview with Patrick Cryne -very interesting on managers' perceptions of BarnsleyFC very little mate. Nothing on Howard other than what we already know. Davey is safe as they would have to justify why a manager has had the sack for saving us for 2 years and giving us a semi final appearance and that when Ritchie was sacked all applicants were poor or waiting on other jobs in the lower leagues.
He must be safe with a record like that.............................. not like that t055er Mouriniho and with his crap record at Chelski, just scraping by is no achievement, you must have progress ! imho
"Saving us."
There shouldn't have been anything to save us from. If dicing with relegation is viewed as an achievement then we can get ready for some dull, dull days down at the well.

Your right. How can you on one hand say we have ambition and then on the other say Davey has saved us from relegation and class it has success. It would have been clearer if we knew what ambition Cryne had for the club. We need progress and continuity - but im afraid the two dont go cap in hand when discussing Davey.
Well done Patrick! now can we finally put to rest this stupid fooking idea that sacking a promising manager is the way to go. now you've got it from the horses mouth, and that.
All BBS's should read this: "One of the main prejudices against Barnsley is that we have run a reign of terror for managers for more than a decade, and most believe that they will not be given any time to get things right before the tumbril rolls to the guillotine again."
The Bonny Baby comeptition Or should that be Bhonniye Baybee, given the spelling of half the names in there. There ought to be a literacy test to see if you're fit to be a parent.
Is that a picture of a potential applicant? "One of the main prejudices against Barnsley is that we have run a reign of terror for managers for more than a decade, and most believe that they will not be given any time to get things right before the tumbril rolls to the guillotine again."
I suppose it's down to whether you believe that or not.
I don't. And hearing it from the horses mouth wouldn't change my mind. I think it was an excuse for penny-pinching. I know it's not my money we're talking about but I think it's about time a decent manager's salary was weighed against the cost of relegation.

Absolute load of **** It was Cryne who didn't give Ritchie the chance for starters. If we lose the next ten matches will Cryne stick by Davey? If we get relegated will he stick by Davey? If we lose the first ten matches next season will he stick by Davey? Hopefully none of that will happen and we'll be celebrating Cryne's foresight in a couple of years when we are in Europe but the ****** about a "reign of terror " for managers is claptrap. It isn't the clubs that have stuck by their managers that get success - it's the clubs that have been succssful that stick by their managers (sometimes!).
Some of the "more forgiving" might even be taken in.
Whatever the reason for sticking with DaveyI don't believe that's it.
Also note that it kind of says he admits he'd prefer to replace him.
