Only 1 player leaves, mowatt, manager leaves, new manager appointed- no experience of championship and starts new system.of playing. I.m.h.o. we are a very young side, and will need time to adjust-to a new system-very little experience in changing systems and no real leading championship experienced player in defence or midfield' Last year, manager knowing this goes to a system that worked, young lads running themselves into the ground, and achieving well above their level of experience. Well done. This season -new manager again with no championship exp. Changes system and to compound this. plays players out of positions they were used to -result chaos. No wonder we are struggling 'headlesss chickens' from manager to players. Crowd, bulletin board. all on team's back. Remember 1st game when we pulverised the team and played sparkling football. Then manager starts ff;ing about with a system that worked, result again chaos. Now a new manager 5 days in job-I for 1 understood why we were fully defensive (negative) he know it could have been a morale booster- basic defending mistakes let us down again. But where was the experienced player midfield/defence to read the game. Captain playing as a striker has no influence. In conclusion we can only hope, the new manager is almost as good as Val and realises our lack of experience when defending. Said he learnt a lot from the game. I don't blame the players. The damage was done by last manager -no leadership when we were playing- tactically useless. Look at Conte for Spurs -jumping up and down shouting instructions etc.'Silence is not Golden' when you need leadership from the bench etc
Look at the Spurs players last night , couldn’t be bothered half of them despite one of the top managers in recent years jumping up and down on the touch line . He’s got a job on Asbaghi because some of our players looked like they had given up in the second half on Wednesday
Spurs biggest problem is that their players are half arsed. They have the talent though, I'm not sure we do comparatively.
True but the point is Spurs even with talented players and a top manager can’t evoke change overnight , it’s going to take some time for Poya to weed out the less committed
they should have sold Kane and reinvested the money. They need a big shake up and Kane will only decrease in value
We are a young side because it's the clubs current policy, that's the only reason. They are cheaper to bring in, wages, fees, if any. And hope to sell on for profit. And that's it,no one has reinvented the wheel here. If you bring in ten young player how many are going to play 50 games for the club.. say 5 maybe 6. Then sell on two maybe three ok I get that.. But the problem we have is the other 5 that just armt good enought, but you still try to shoe horn em into the first team. Ether because they're on long term deals or just because we don't have any better/experienced players around.. The problem here is the club and it's recruitment policy.. they bring in too many young players at once and try to force them through by playing to them in or out of form. When young players by nature are inconsistent, when you have no one else to rely on except other young players.. you have a problem... and like I said before, all self inflicted
Are there any roles at the club that haven't seen a change in personnel this year? Absolute car crash of a close season
I see loads of comparisons with Spurs. The biggest one is Kane and Woodrow. Whilst Kane wants away from Spurs and Woodrow is happy at Barnsley. They're similar players. Kane drops back into midfield because he isn't getting the service. Kane also snatches at efforts through lack of chances. When he's out of form it shows with the rest of the team. Barnsley press from the front and when you aren't creating chances and scoring goals. It's just chasing shadows and knackering yourself out. The best examples this season are Bournemouth away then Wednesday night.
It was also the previous regimes policy, not saying it's right or wrong but the strategy was introduced before the current owners came in.
