Last season when it was still possible (but unlikely) for us to go down in the last home game, I put all the proceeds of my Sky Bet account (£50 accumulated from a free bet) on us to go down at 14/1. I stood to win over £700 if it happened. As the most I have ever won is a very generous 4 number payout of £120 on the lottery 10 years ago, I knew there wasn't a cat in hells chance of it happening. Just the insurance of either making us win to scupper my bet or a bit of consolation otherwise. I was going to do the same this year but we've got ourselves so deep in the mire the odds aren't going to be attractive enough.
I can only find these odds this year with Betfair http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/coca-cola-championship/relegation
RE: Lol you'd get 1.25/1 I think, so the worst you could do is lump £50 on and get £62.50 back. You cant lose if you do it. The only thing you'll have is the shame of betting against us to go down - something I've had to live with for the last month!
Ignore that! You;d still be £37.50 down if we get relegated. You'd need to back us to go down with the tune of £200 to break even if we fail to beat the drop.
skybet you could have had 6/1 in January.... we are 5/1 to beat Reading whilst Forest are 10/11 on to beat Coventry the omens are not looking good however I dont see Ipswich doing their neighbours Narwich any favours in the local derby on the 19th.
I put £200 at 1.46 on Betfair this morning £92 will buy enough Stella to help me forget that next season we'll have to qualify for the FA Cup and be entering the Johnstones Paint Trophy.
That can't be right We can't be 1/4 to go down in the current situation when Norwich and Southampton are more favourites. Surely 1/1 is the equivalent of 4/4 and 1.25 of 5/4. 5/4 sounds right to me...
I may have misread sorry. When i've laid/backed on Betfair before i've usually calculated is on the odds I stated, IE 1/4 = a 25% return on top of your stake (so in effect of 1.25, tenner pays £12.50) It's been a long weekend and my brains frazzled so the above may look like complete B*ll*cks
It's not a 25% return on your stake though Cos that's what 1/4 means. If you put a tenner on at 5/4 you would receive back £22.50 including your stake (ie, win £12.50)
RE: I put £200 at 1.46 on Betfair this morning I had £100 at 4.5 on 18 March, day after we beat Palace.
