    Unreal.

Did you actually think we'd beat Cardiff last night? I didn't even think we'd score a goal. Anyone who thought we would go to Cardiff last night and get anything, is sadly, sadly deluded, and you need to wake up fast.

Cardiff are a better team than us. Fact.

Oh, and I suppose it was Simon Daveys fault that Muller dropped another clanger, or that Teymourian got sent off? Eh...?

    I'm not moaning one iota.

He dropped a clanger. That's like me saying I spilt some coffee when I was getting my dinner today, oh oops, my bad; it's ok, blame my manager, he'll sort it.

**** me, some players really are exempt from criticism. He's nowhere near the keeper he was last season, and its about time Luke Steele got given another chance, after all, he never put a foot wrong in the first place.

Would you have been moaning if Liverpool had beaten us 3-1?

Would you have been blaming Daveys 'tactics' then? What, NO? Well, why?

Once the players cross the whitewash, it's on them to get the job done. They can only take on board advice and instructions, but the rest is down to them. They have to put the ball into the net. THEY have to work hard. THEY have to win the match. Not the fans. Not the chairman and NOT Simon Davey.

    Scott Jones. FACT

All this about Steele is based on one good game IMHO.

Muller has been fine recently. I've not seen the goal from last night but given I initially thought he should have come for the ball for QPR's goal but when I saw it again he did the right thing then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Was Souza still on the field when Muller "dropped a clanger"?

    Unlike us though...

He can actually influence the game...sometimes he does not seem to do so in any positive fashion.

Don't get started mate, I'm not having a dig at Muller.

My point was, that Simon Davey is taking flack from all corners, for everything that just about goes wrong. For me, he's done a sterling job for a team that at best, is a midtable Championship team.

Why so negative? We have beaten better teams than Cardiff lots of time. I guess the fans shouldn't have bothered going then....Yes it's the fault of Davey that he continues to play Muller. Also Doesn't Davey speak to the players about their petulance? The amount of silly bookings we could have avoided this season for diving, disent and kicking the ball away is unbelieveable.

    Yes, I agree.

But, it's the players that need to stand up and take the blame.

It's not as if we've been playing particularly bad this season. The chances that we've missed, game in, game out, would've seen us comfortably in the top half of the table. Did Simon miss sitters against Bristol City at home? Did he miss a hatful against Southampton away and at home? Did he make balls ups against Ipswich and Reading and Cardiff and Blackpool? No, no, no, no! In nearly every game, he's put out what he believes (and many fans believe) to be the strongest squad possible. Once they are on the pitch, it's those players who earn BIG BUCKS to stick that ball in the net. If I put in consistent performance such as the likes of Odejayi et al did for us, at my place of work - I'd have been shown the door. I can only take so much advice and guidance off my boss, the rest is down to me.

That's true, we have. We've also lost to much poorer sides too. Your right, I wouldn't have bothered going, and didn't. So, your saying he shouldn't play Muller? Wow, I wouldn't go that far, not after one mistake pal. I'm sure he does speak to them, however, as I've never been a fly on the wall in the Oakwell dressing room, I wouldn't know.

I agree to a certain extent - but

SD has then persisted with your case in point, KO, to the point of distraction. For that he is responsible. Jamil Adam would have been a better option!

    RE: Yes, I agree.

So KO et al "consistently" put in bad performaces - it's the manager you are defending who consistently gave them the opportunity to put in these bad performances

As for your original post - why don't we just pack it all in then because I don't expect to beat Birmingham, Reading, Sheff Utd, Wolves, Watford, Plymouth, Coventry so why bother worrying about it if we don't

1 shot at goal in first half,, this has happened too many times

in away games , this season and last. The buck stops with Davy. He has an horrible away record, not just in defeats but in performances. I've never been a Davy out person, but now I have serious doubts. Any manager who gets relegated with the squad we have, doesn't deserve to get in football again. This is the best squad of players we have had in a long time, should not be in a relegation fight, indeed, should have no trouble in finishing halfway up. davy has the ammunition, but appears not to have the know how, or is it. the courage to use it.

When the Football League publish next season's fixtures, they should, division by division, have a meeting for a representative from every club, sit them all in a room then they could agree all the results of the forthcoming matches, it would go, well, we never get anything against that club we always beat that club, we've no right to be playing that club etc. In Barnsley's case it would be, QPR, Cardiff, Coventry, Derby Sheff. Weds. we don't need to play these , just make the results up before the season starts, save the fans hundreds of pounds and put thousands of people in football and football related industries out of work. In the meantime keep building the pedestal for Simple Simon even higher so that nasty fans can't hurt him.
