Are we bigging him up as a Messiah on his return or has he really been out of sorts the last two games? He was woeful against Palace and last night he made too many bad decisions (two awful back passes to keeper that put Heinz in all sorts of trouble) and gave the ball away too often. On the plus side, he covered all the pitch, put through some lovely balls for players to run on to and was quite strong in defence. So, am I just wanting too much from Anderson?
I think you are career threatening injury and has been rushed back because of a shortage of quality in the midfield in my opinion.
Anderson Can't beat playing matches to regain your previous form.Have patience it takes time to recover brilliance.
Thought he was better last night, both he and Colace worked well and I thought he was key to some passing through the midfield. On the other hand though I do feel he was rushed back from injury and not given the chance to be rested.
Agree Colace had a good game as the holding midfielder ,Anderson seemed to get more confidence as the game went on.Which begs the question ,why was Colace on the bench on Saturday when it was obvious to everyone we were struggling in midfield ?
RE: Agree agree with all - da silva should be putting his feet up for the rest of the week and joining in match preparations on friday - he will be fine - major b****k dropped with the selction of leon on saturday - afetr 5 minutes it was obvious how palace were playing - simple correction - to tell the strikers the nearset one to derry picks him up when they have the ball and as soon as we get the ball go back into their position - so easy - attack wide - defend narrow - another game where possible points have been thrown away
He didn't do much wrong did he? Ok so he made a few bad decisions but then he's ALWAYS done that, we just don't tend to pick up on them. I don't think he fitness was a problem last night and having a player who knows what the word defensive means makes a big difference.
He was rushed back by Davey as a desparate measure to save his own neck! The jury is still out imho as to whether it's worked. He needs more time but he could just get Davey out of a very deep hole. Alongside Colace he forms an above average central midfield pairing.
Having suffered the same injury myself, its going to take him time to gain confidence in his knee fully for a few games yet as well as fitness levels. But theres a great partnership to be formed with him and Colace.
