As disappointing as it is to lose a 2 goal lead, we didn’t need to win tonight, and still have games in hand on those above us. It’s just another unbeaten game in a long season.

Bolton were excellent tonight. I haven’t looked at their forum, but wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the best second half they’ve had this season. I feared the worst when they brought Bodvarson on and went direct, and sure enough, he caused us problems and we couldn’t get up the pitch. He’s an option that we don’t have at our disposal.

Tonight decides nothing though really. It’s just another draw and onto Lincoln and Carlisle. Bolton and Derby both still looking over their shoulders.

I do hope that Santos didn’t leave the ground with Cole still in his pocket though….

I think there’s a twist to come in the promotion race. I think Portsmouth will get dragged back into it.

They’ve all got to play each other so very possible. I love this time of the season when we’re involved. Can’t wait for the next game. :)

Bolton fans that I’ve read generally said 3 things:
Result was fair(but thought at 2-0 it was all over)
    Pines and Roberts were excellent
We sat back too early and let Sheehan dictate the game second half.

As disappointing as it was in the end, can’t believe some of the negativity on here last night, it’s almost like some posters have been desperately waiting for a result/performance to jump on.

While I agree its just another point on the board and still all to play for, but that's the 2nd time we have thrown a 2goal lead away against a top 6 side (posh away)

I think your giving bolton too much credit, I'd love to see the passing stats for the 2nd half v boltons passes as all we seemed to do is drop deeper and deeper and clear the ball it was almost like attack v defence.

I always find myself defending cole on here who if anything goes wrong he's the 1st people fans want to get on his back. But last night we went ultra defensive too macatee off for a midfielder at 2-1 and he was upfront alone. What did you expect from him, Collins would have been better swapping him for Cosgrove when he took macatee on who would have been better suited to playing upfront alone.

Agree with all that... Thought Bolton were decent second half and deserved their point. But we took a forward off too early for a midfielder and tried to hold on too long. Bit of a wake up to the HMS pi55theleaguers.. no one is going to lie down and give us top two, every ball in every match must be fought over. From now till May.. Then after 46 games we'll see who is worthy of top two..

We are very much in it.. few more twists and turns yet..

Surely there are no genuine piss the leaguers? It was only 3 week ago half of twitter thought Collins was **** and we still had a genuine chance of relegation..!

I wasn’t pointing the finger at Cole. Just implying that Santos was excellent, as were Bolton, and they were dangerous in the first half. They almost doubled our passing stats stats in the first half and had better possession.

The top 6 sides are very good, it can’t all be about us, our tactics or having our own way. As well as we are doing, and I still have confidence we can pinch second, we have a wafer thin squad. Yeah we lost the lead v Posh, but beat Oxford away, Stevenage at home and Orient were flying when we beat them.

Should he have brought Cosgrove earlier? obviously! Could we have left someone on the half way line when we went deep? Definitely, but all in all I stick with my point, which is, ‘keep calm’ it’s gone, move on.

The lads have earned a load of credit with the run they’ve been on. I don’t feel a need to be too critical.

Bolton were good but tye 1st half was far more competitive than the 2nd apart from the William goal line clearance I can't remember them creating much.
Macatee had a great chance for us before we scored, then 2nd half we started well and macatee had another great chance where he should have squared it earlier to Cole for a tap in but waited too long.

I couldn't make it last night so watch on ifollow but the Bolton comms were even commenting on how well we started the 2nd half the frustrating thing was we seemed to want to try and defend the lead then for 40 minutes.

My point was Santos will have a good game against Cole when coles the lone striker and were just defending deep and banging balls to him.

The game was won and lost in midfield last night we totally got bossed in midfield last night. I'll probably get stick for this but that was one of the worst performances connells made in a barnsley shirt.

Like you say it's a good point but just disappointing for me to once again throw a lead away.

Santos is a beast. First thing he did to Cosgrove was launch him into the West Stand lower.

I’m ok with us losing leads when we’ve come from behind to win so many times. We give our lads the credit for doing that, rather than commenting on how the oppos threw the lead away, so I’m always willing to give anyone credit for doing the same to us.

I suppose many people are a bit fecked off because Bolton were celebrating so much, but they’re celebrating getting a draw and 1 win in the last 4.

Overall, over the 2 games chances wise. We were unlucky not to win at Bolton. And given that last half hr last night. Maybe lucky to not concede more. Great defending an blocking though. Especially Robert's.
