BARNSLEY Chairman Gordon Shepherd has revealed more information about the Club's bid for Rotherham United star Lee Williamson.

Speaking to the press ahead of yesterday's game at Wolves, Mr Shepherd said: "We started the process of making a bid for Lee Williamson a couple of weeks ago. We spoke with Rotherham United again last Friday and were asked to firm up our offer in writing. We will do that now this week. The offer is £200,000.

"There are others in the pipeline as well and hopefully we can do something before Saturday's game at Southend. We do not want to name any more players because everybody else is after them and we do not want to alert people".
