turn into the arrogant totally up their own arse types they are today,so much f@#*ing arrogance so little reason.Know loads of fans who used to sympathise with em now looking forward to the day they sink without trace. What really gets me is they are the type who think they can dish it out but go down like they've been shot if anybody as much as breathes on em only to miraculously recover once a card has appeared. They're fellow pro's must love em too.Heard Dave Penny on P&G pub manager in charge of a pub team so far removed from reality its almost unbelievable (banghead) (rulez)

    can i ask you something

were you there in the conference because i know i was at donny rovers in the conference with sheffield wednesday fans and rotherham fans alike supporting your team to get back into the league so we could have more local teams doing well. but you have so much gratitude all you 3000 fans singing rovers till i die when you couldnt even get 3000 at a home match back then. so think before you reckon you are the biggest club in yorkshire.

    Your question was:

"Whats it like losing to a pub time 3 times on the trot?"

Well, to be perfectly honest, I've never had an issue with pub times. Just make sure you get everything in before last orders.

    Now answer my question.

RE: can i ask you something

Nope just sat around at home pissing against the wall, was fun :)

It's your own arrogance that leads to this baiting. If you took it on the chin instead of being all high and mighty then it wouldn't be half as bad. And some of the drivel being put about the match today is laughable. We all know how low our club was, but we also know where we are now, and saying we are ***** is complete BS, calling us ***** makes you look even worse (the results don't lie)....a ***** club doesn't get 2 consecutive promotions.

Oh and 3000 there today, come on admit it, you know there were more.....stop with the verbal diahorrea (zzz)

This is just an open-ended question to all Barnsley fans - do you honestly think those sendings-off were undeserved. I have heard that Coppinger threw an elbow, but your lad retaliated completely over the top, and the second one was a bad foul. If he did elbow Austin, then I'm sorry, but thats football, sly digs are always going unnoticed. But the way your team tore into him, fouling him almost constantly, was ridiculous, and I dont think Ive ever seen a player as dirty as Conlon. As for the result, I think that you played well enough with ten men to draw, but shout yourselves in the foot when Kay went off. To be fair, we could have had three or four, but we took our foot off the pedal at the end. Finally, to the chap who called us arrogant - only 3 seasons ago we were beginning our fifth campaign in the conference, facing teams such as Dover and Leigh RMI. Today we beat a former Premiership side for the 3rd consecutive time - I think we have a right to be proud and happy.

Not at all :) I have no shame in being pissed, I'm pretty impressed I haven't made more mistakes, the thing is, I still make more sense than you even tho I'm pissed but hey, you are from Barnsley....

So answer my question, what's it like being hammered by a pub team? That better? Or you finally decided the labotomy is for you so that ***** coming from your lips drys up? :)

I've seen some biased opinions in my time but you lot tonight, this has made me laugh. :pff

Not the greatest argument ever. I remember when tarn were just a small club, plodding along, never upsetting anyone, occasionally having local bragging rights. Nobody minded us, really. Then we made the Premiership, got relegated and changed into a right bunch of big-time charlies. Expectation levels went through the roof and we ouldn't take a few defeats without sacking the manager or hounding a decent player out of the club. What goes around comes around.

No, you said pub time, which I answered.

Now answer my question. It's pretty obvious you've had the procedure.

Love the "coming from my lips" malarky. Do you talk to the compter? Is it your only friend? Bless. Not quite got the hang of this English language, technology, making sense malarky have you?

Trouble is North Yorks - us Barnsley fans seem to have become just as arrogant!

OK - today we lost to a (supposedly) inferior team in our view, in a game which was solely affected by poor refereeing decisions, if many comments on here are to be believed. Nowt to do with the fact that we didn't play particularly well, didn't create too many chances and when those chances arrived we wasted them, and nowt to do with the fact that two supposed professional footballers got themselves sent off, when really they should have known better!

Yes, Ozzie was unfortunate perhaps (or arguably Coppinger should have been dismissed as well) but we all know that Neil can be hot-headed, we've seen enough examples of that since he made his debut in the first team. Kay really should have known better - no more, no less. We fans know that Rennie is a fussy referee who seems to make decisions on the spur of the moment and is too handy with the red card. If we know that, then surely the players must know as well, and should therefore act accordingly. That is, not reacting to provocation or making daft challenges.

Unfortunately this BBS also appears to follow the trend of BFC fans' 'arrogance' - or perception that we are better than we really are. Time was when opposition fans could come on here, give us a bit of banter/abuse, get some back - all in a friendly tone - and we got on with life. Some of those opposition fans became good friends of the BBS (e.g. Boris from Swindon) - which is surely what a forum of this nature should engender? That is, good banter between football fans. After all, it's not been above certain folk on this forum to go onto opposition fans' sites and wind them up in the past, has it? Now it seems all we can do is call each other names and be abusive to one another. Maybe that's just a sign of the times - or maybe it shows a lack of ability to discuss football related topics rationally with each other.

Personally, I'd have thought we'd have had more tolerance with the Donny fans - after all, their club was a damned site closer to extinction a few seasons ago than we were during the dark days of Administration. But the bottom line is - both teams are in Division 2 for good reason, and Barnsley are not that much bigger or better than our neighbours down the A1. The results last season and today give ample credence to that. OK, Rovers' players fell over at nearly every opportunity this afternoon, but tactics like that (whilst unpalatable to us) can get teams out of this division. Have we forgotten Hull City last season at Oakwell and the KC? I don't think Barmby stayed on his feet for more than two consecutive minutes in either game!

Today's result was disappointing and as usual we look for every excuse bar the team's performance it would seem. We'll experience referees almost as bad as Rennie during the remainder of this season, we'll also get decisions going our way when they shouldn't have. It's football - we take the rough with the smooth. This afternoon was the rough - hopefully the smooth will come next Tuesday night at Ashton Gate (though I'm not holding my breath!).

Seriously though - I think it's time us Barnsley fans took a reality check and accepted that we aren't the 'big' club we perhaps like to think we are, neither have we the divine right to walk out of this division into the Championship.
