When does AR wake up and smell the ***** heading his way

I have been a stalwart fan of AR because of his determination to try to play football the right way. Tonight the first cracks in that faith are appearing and AR has some blatantly obvious facts to face up to and very quickly or I'm afraid the revolving door at oakwell will be spinning yet again.

Last season our defence was good not because of the talent of the players but because they were up against ale house strikers who needed four or five attempts to score. We were up against managers who wanted to play a pub league style of football.

This season we are playing better quality strikers and are up against managers with nouce who can work out how to beat us...guess what, we have absolutly no answer to it.

AR seems unable or unwilling to bring in anyone other than kids which leads me to think he is afraid of dealing with experienced senior pro's. This I fear is going to cost us big time, no more time for excuses..wages...other teams snatching them. We need experience and cover and we need it fast.

Only last week AR said he didnt want Shipps cos he was no different to Richards..sorry AR total ****** Ships has experience and when we go two up he can hold up play and relieve pressure on the defence whereas Richards is still young and learning.

We desperatly need a complete new defence made up of players who are used to this level and if we dont get them we are going nowhere but down.

There is a good quote from the movie Speed "Guts will get you so far then they'll get you killed" we have a gutsy team who so far have managed to keep fighting back but it isnt enough, we need to be able to scrap out results and stay up but I fear after seeing all of the home games so far and hearing what is happening away from oakwell we wont make it without big changes.

Maybe I'm being too critical but it is now blatantly obvious that we are lacking and lacking big time and GS needs to be on AR's back to get players in and fast.

Hope it changes but dont see anything coming other than good performance, bad ref, fighting spirit...******, ******, ******

Totally pissed off tonight....need to see changes...players gotta come in now. If AR still says we dont need defenders thats an admission he hasnt a clue and maybe nail number one in a certain coffin.

Sorry for the long rant, but 2-0 up away from home the game should have been over and done and the points in the bag.

Just got back and was going to post something simular, thanks for saving me the time. Spot on post. Nice football doesn't get you points ask Burnley they play crap football but hey 3 points tonight. we were unlucky,but also defended again very naievely. We need an experienced centre back who is strong and will lead the team.
Time to put Robbie back on the bench too.

 

Good post yes, but it is only what some of us (you know, the ones that everyone has been calling moaners and negative etc. etc.) have been saying all season.

 

I have never been negative about AR, he has done more for us on the pitch in the last year than anybody since Danny boy if only because he returned a sense of pride back to Reds fans.

My moan is that to every fan who watches games we are probably one of the most attractive and attacking sides to watch. But we are also one of the weakest defensivly and we have no real experience at this level.

The kids and younger pro's will only take us so far, we can have as many strikers on board as you like but unless we are gonna get a couple of hat tricks per game the defence is gonna cost us games.

Colgan is also a big worry for me, doesnt command and doesnt rule his box he needs to help the young uns more than he does.

What we are saying as fans is only what is absolutly blatantly obvious on the pitch. We are good enough to stay up if we forget this misguided loyalty thing and get players in to do the job of keeping us in this league.
