    I think you choose a formation that suits your best players as opposed to deciding on a formation and making players fit into it.

    When every player is fit we should start with.
    Collins.
    Sibbick, Helik, Anderson, Kitching.
    Brittan, Palmer, Benson, Styles.
    Woodrow, Morris.

    Vita, Gomes, Leya Isakan, and Oulare should be brought into games from the bench and if good enough keep their place in the team no one knows for sure how good these new players are.

    Oulare Woodrow Morris

    Or add Brittain for one of the midfielders and play Williams in a back 3 to move to 3-4-3.

    If Vita, Gomes and Oulare aren’t as good as hoped, Kitching, Palmer and Frieser or Iseka come in.

    I just can’t see us playing a flat back four. It doesn’t suit the squad when you consider needing cover, replacements, etc. You can’t be making subs and having to change shape every game.

    Madds, Helik and Kitching are likely to to be the CBs from right to left.

    Brittain and Styles as wing backs with room for Vita/J Williams to get up to pace and show us what they’ve got.

    I love Palmer but his last two performances think we’ll go Benson and Gomes in the middle.

    Front three of Woodrow, Iseka and Frieser. I think Oulare is exactly the kind of player that will do well coming on either to change a game or to see it out. I’m pretty sure this front three will rotate a lot though when everyone is fit.

    It all depends on form, especially with the attackers.

    Also Palmer would always be the 1st name on the teamsheet for me

    I see what you mean, the actual wide players are more suited to wing back than full back, but we can’t keep allowing styles to play cm with the ball and expect him to shift position when we lose it. Might be ok with Kitching on the left of the back 3, but it’s suicidal with moon there. And I think there’s only been the first half at qpr where it’s not looked (to me anyway) like we need an extra player in cm.

    We have one out and out full back in the shape of Jordan WIlliams, but he's not played that position since Daniel Stendel was manager, so is he an out and out full back? We've got cover on both sides at wing back, with the option for wing backs or centre backs to cover at full back, but moving to a back four would be criminal in my eyes. Also screams 'four four bloody two' with no appreciation for how the game has moved on. I know you didn't suggest this by the way.

    The Styles 'style' under Schopp is intriguing. It hasn't worked yet, but I can only think it's to get him more involved in the game and to have a greater impact. But his best performances this season have come from holding the position and playing it more like last season. It's not just on his side though, Brittain is similar. I think the tactic is that they tuck in at times and that allows Sibbick/Kitching to go storming forward to win the ball, carry it, overlap, etc. Means we've got positions covered but we're left criminally short out wide both in attack and defensively.

    It was one criticism I had of Val's team. Sibbick and Madds (more the latter) didn't commit enough further up the pitch when the opportunity was there. If you've got three CBs they don't need to stay as a compact unit out of possession because nine times out of ten they're playing against one striker. It mattered less when they were mainly there to pick up any clearance and get the ball straight back down the other end of the pitch. We've seen great examples in games so far of Sibbick and Kitching attacking the opposition and going forward.
