I don't want to sound sour or negative here but if Denis the Mellis wasn't injured then Flicka would likely have him playing against Donny.
He needs a rest and when he comes back he has to play centre midfield or not at all.

Same applies with Steele........if Steele wasn't injured then we probably wouldn't have got the excellent Butland

Would be ok if we had any other midfielders capable of scoring and creating goals. Unfortunately we sorely lack in that department having about 500 toilers who do neither.

Are we saying Mellis is capable of scoring goals. Never shown anywhere near this year

dennis the mellis is by far your worst attempt at humour yet, as for being glad a barnsley player is injured so he can be replaced is laughable

Got to agree, I think a forced change will be a positive thing for us.

Played in the wrong position he won't score goals played in the right one he will as he showed last year. O'Grady probably wouldn't score many playing at full back.

Mellis has been poor this season no doubt played out of position. Confidence shot looks disinterested. He has however still assisted more goals than any other midfielder. Taking Paddy aside the record of our midfield at creating chances is very poor. We have no one that the manager will select that can do this. O'Brien won't do this has he's proven over a 100Plus games, neither will Kelvin, Fox, Dawson or Perkins. Neither will they score goals. There is no potential for them to do so given the style of players they are. So we will be left with mark Paddy and no one in midfield even has the capability to score or create goals. Picking Tompole or RNL consistently over this period or even Jennings would offer us a little something possibly but I doubt this will happen.

Jennings is nowhere Championship standard. If Melliss can play Central and get goals then I am happy with that. Yet this year he has not put in 100per cent and he is being given the chance , but he has been that poor he is being subbed. In reply to another poster, I do not like to see any of our players injured. The sooner Mellis, Ramage, Nyatanga are fit the better.
