I'm sure we all have our opinions and this board seems to be verging on the extreme as far as your own thoughts on who should take over.
I am glad its not us who picks the boss because we haven't been good at it in the past.
Spackman was hailed as the messiah by the large majority of the BBS and Barnsley fans as a whole.
Paul Hart was also welcomed as the saviour of our great club.
How wrong could we be.....?
Well, we didn't want Danny Wilson in charge, or Andy Ritchie for that matter.
We haven't got a good track record so I hope to god GS and PC don't read this board.

Well said , old mate For every name that has been mentioned , there's been at least one post stating a reason why he shouldn't be appointed ( sometimes the only reason is a personal dislike ) . However , to me , that's the beauty of football . It's all about opinions . None of us shoulder any responsibilities , though , when making our footballing suggestions . As you say , Terry , Nigel Spackman and Paul Hart were popular appointments with the majority of the fans . My choice ? Head goes for Ian Dowie , heart goes for Eric Winstanley with Neil Redfearn as his assistant .
I never wanted Hart , I was surprised anyone else did he was on a losing run of about 25 games at Forest when they sacked him.
I am sure it was thee who said Harmsions first ball would go to 2nd slip, did you get some money on it?

Yer right, us on here dunt know much about football managers.........but DOES THE DIRECTORS !!! S) S) S) Lets hope so, and if they don't then they need to be asking people within football who is the best choice I'm glad its not me picking the new manager But I suppose when the appointment has been made, I along with many others on here will be telling the directors that they have got it wrong
RE: I never wanted Hart , I was surprised anyone else did The bad run a Forest was caused by them unloading all their star players for several million, and not giving Paul H any money for decent replacements. It should be remembered his first match in charge at Hillsborough, and everyone saying how he'd transformed a dire Hodge side in a couple of days. He was criticised not so much for his management of the players, but his attitude to the media.
There were loads about Hart on the BBS However , dissenting voices were in the minority around Oakwell . I'm not saying everyone agreed to their appointments , but those views were not held by the majority of fans . Their opponents were proved right in the long run .
RE: Do you have any of your old Spackman posts saved up? Can you believe Millwall gave him a job, unbelievable, although I think Cryne and Shep have lost the plot on this one I'm sure they aren't that stupid
I didn't have a computer in 2001 But when I joined the old board , it kept coming up at various times that there was one poster who had constantly warned everyone else that Spackman was NOT the saviour all and sundry seemed to think . Was that you ?
That's very true... It just goes to show that the general opinion of the fans can often be utter B*ll*cks - especially when it comes to managers. Here's something that we can all agree on though, with absolute certainty. Tommy Wright ...
