there wont be many from QPR, especially on a Tuesday night. Would be great for the board to do a promotional offer of some sort to get as many fans in as posibble in for this massive game. Bring your mate that wouldnt normally go for a £5er, bring your kid/s that wouldnt normally go for a £1. Everyone seems to be asleep for weekend games, would be good to hear a bit of Barnsley passion aswell. worked well for Leicester when they played us, chairman did everyhing he could to get as many fans/voices in the stadium to their advantage. Its simple, we beat them, and were out of the relegation zone, what a massive boost that would be.
Agreed Its a massive game and it really would be great if the board could do some sort of promotion to get a few more down at Oakwell for it.</p>
football for a fiver... not seen that for a few years. barnsley v oldham the season before the premier division it was every one a fiver.
With it being an evening kick off I doubt if the "kid for a quid" idea would generate much extra income. I can't see many people wanting to keep the younger kids up until 10ish to watch the match and then have to get home. I also can't see the Club being in a position to do/organise anything like that when they are running a "Fun Day" for the Colchester match on the 10th February.
RE: With it being an evening kick off They should do offers for pairs of games, buy a ticket for one game and get a ticket for another at half price.
Tickets have already been in sale Unforunately this would not be possible at such short notice, tickets have already been on sale at both QPR and Barnsley, so the complication of refunds, tickets already printed etc would be a logistical nightmare. Also to run offers for the kids would be better for a weekend, rather than on a week night, when the kids have school the following morning. The club are doing a promotion for the Colchester game which is the next home game with reduced price tickets for all catergiories, which is available to supporters of both teams, I hope this will be well supported, especially as it is what the supporters have been asking for all season. Still, would be good for everyone who can to get down to the well and create the atmosphere that the travelling fans made at Luton. Owen
Once again GS the alleged "businessman" misses the boat... the importance of this match could have been percieved before tickets went on sale and the aforementioned package thought out.The extra amount of attendance may have helped lift the players, season ticket holders wold have found it hard to object to reduction of general ticket sales if it may have helped to keep us up....well done GS your vision and foresight is astonishing.....run a club , I would not let you run my bath.
we need to think of doing this once or twice before the season is over. it may help keep the crowd levels up, and maybe the team up too....but hey our "businessmen" of the board can surely grasp this................well no I think not.
Without wanting to sound too pessimistic It might have been a better idea to run a promotion against a team outside of the top third of the table. But let's hope it pays off for them.
unless my eyes fail me I would say QPR ARE outside the top third.... I could be wrong , but that table is normally pretty correct
Your eyes DO fail you If you look again you'll see that my post is a reply to Owen's post about the promotion for the Colchester game, Colchester being eighth in the table.
RE: Tickets have already been in sale Tickets had gone on ale before Hull did an offer of £5 in for everyone + 1000s of free tickets for schools. People who had bought 1 could have a ticket for FREE at any other game. Which lets face it, we always have spare seats!!
