we'll have a very good team IMO The central midfielder area looks very strong. Butterfield, Perkins, drinkwater doyle addison digby ect
I agree with you mate, things are looking very good,so much better than the the stuff Robins was serving up towards the end, I can't remember such a long run of consistently good performances in ages.
I think the injuries have done us far more good than harm Hill started the season with Addison as number 1 choice defensive midfielder, but since he got crocked Hill's gone with 3 much more mobile central midfielders, which looks to work much better. Perkins started the season out on the left and if we're honest he looked lost. Injuries meant he had to be moved to the centre where he looks far more accomplished. Perkins move to the centre freed up a place out wide, which has since been taken by more attacking players, who have also improved the team. I don't think any of us were expecting Andy Gray to be leading the line this season, but he's been an integral part of our unbeaten run. He wouldn't be playing but for the injuries. Sometimes your hand is forced, but what you're left with clicks in to place and turns out to be a lot better than what you originally planned. I'm not trying to undermine what Hill has done, I'm just saying that the injuries have speeded up the process of trying different personnel and formations and maybe we've found a system that works quicker than if we'd had far more options.
Re: I think the injuries have done us far more good than harm Following from afar, that certainly seemed to me to be exactly the case. However, it could still be argued that we're not scoring enough goals - second tightest defence in the league and we still don't have a positive goal difference which tells its own story. What should be done in order to remedy this once we have our attacking options back? It sounds like Gray can't really be dropped at the minute, so in order to bring Davies back in that would mean adjusting the formation. Also, where could Haynes be fitted in without upsetting the balance of the side? If he's stuck on the wing you might as well have ten players on the field, but Haynes up front with Gray could be very interesting.
Re: I think the injuries have done us far more good than harm Second tightest defence in the league and not scoring but still playing entertaining football almost seems impossible, as for Haynes he'l have to take his opportunity like Gray has done when the chance comes along.
Re: I think the injuries have done us far more good than harm Agreed mate, I'm just interested to know where people would accommodate him and Davies once they're fit.
Re: I think the injuries have done us far more good than harm Swap me Haynes for Hume and I'd be a happy bunny
Re: I think the injuries have done us far more good than harm I don't know mate but, it's a good predicament to have for a manager
