That is was an evil, intent-ridden, dirty, awful, heinous act of sheer horridness by Chris Morgan? Why can't people see this? He's been the same throughout his career, even when he was at Barnsley, he was a dirty, dirty player. Skysports showed a quaint little montage earlier today, showing Morgan, elbowing, slapping, stamping and throwing punches at various players - and that was just for Sheffield United; I'd hate to think how long it would've been if they'd included some of his 'scraps' in a Barnsley shirt too. Some of the callers to Football Phone-In are just ridiculous. I mean, come on, puh-lease. "Hume ran into Morgans elbow" - Yeah, of course, like you do. There are lots of elbows up and down the country, week in, week out. But they usually end in minor cuts or bruises, because they are done accidentally, either through jumping or some other accident. For someone to receive a fractured skull and internal bleeding, and ultimately end up on the Intensive Care Unit, the elbow must've been thrown with some force, and from reviewing the replays - it WAS! Morgan made NO attempt to jump. He made no attempt to 'shield' or 'mark his territory' from Hume. He THREW his ELBOW out to the side with the utmost knowledge of where Hume was - he KNEW he was there, and he MEANT to hit Hume with his elbow. I'm not saying he meant to fracture his skull, because I don't believe he did - but he DID MEAN to hit Hume. Chris Morgan, if he does actually come out and apologise will be scorned. He's obviously going to say that he didn't mean to hit Hume. Wrong. He might just well as tell the truth, and say that he didn't mean for the incident to go so far, and for someone to nearly die from his hands. Then he would get at least a little respect. For me, he should be banned for the same length of time that Hume is out of action for. If he was on the street and he did that, he would be locked up by now. You just can't go around throwing elbows at people. Another Sheffield United fan said that 'It's a man's game'...Yeah, the key word being - GAME. Peoples lives are at stake, week in week out, and although we all complain every week about Davey and Moore and anyone else, at the end of the day, something like this can bring us all back down to Earth, and make us all take a long hard look at things - finally, managing to put things in perspective. For me, Football is a side order, a hobby on overall life - loved ones and friends come first. Saturday and Sunday allow me to escape the rigours for a few hours, and have some FUN. I don't expect to see coins being thrown and elbows being smashed into peoples faces. It's ridiculous. You don't see this kind of thing very often in ANY other sport (Ok, on the RAREST of occasions). This incident could really hit home to a few people. For us, as a club, it could swing either way. We have lost, potentially one of our biggest threats, along with De Silva and Macken and we could lose the form that we had put together. Or, this could bring us together as a squad, and as people, and make a push up the league - either way, that's by the by. Here's hoping Ian gets better soon. No one should go out onto the football pitch, expecting to be smashed to pieces by intentful, hateful people throwing elbows about. ...I just have to laugh, STILL, at all those Blades fans that are saying 'Morgan is NOT a dirty player'. Wake up and smell the coffee folks. - Punching at Nottingham Forest. - Stamping at Millwall; and swinging elbows. - Slapping at Wigan and ultimately paying the price. ...More, more, more, to even list. And now, putting a fellow player, a fellow man in hospital. It's a game. That's all. Not even Boxing is this barbaric at times. Laws need reviewing, and people need to step in, because what Morgan did on Saturday was just plain idiotic. It's not just him - it's happening far too often, in this now greed-filled, malodourous, stinking sport. Money prevails. At Sunday league level, and junior level - hardly anything like this happens; except on minor occasions, when PASSION prevails. It's getting pathetic. Teams full of prima-donnas earning hundreds of thousands a week to kick a ball, fall over crying when tapped and behave like idiots, on and off the pitch. I'm thoroughly pissed off...
what are morgan defenders saying eh? hume ran into morgans elbow hes not dirty player, dont tell me you are defending that piece of ****
