and they sent a return letter saying "unfortunatly we have over looked you for this posititon at this current time" does it mean a) **** off your **** b) unlucky you were too late to apply c) try next time

No. I think it means we are such a set of useless Barstewards that we have failed to recognise a wonderful,hard working and talented individual who would be a major asset to our organisation. But then I could be wrong, but I'm not usually. The worse thing you can get is to be told that you were an outstanding candidate and then get rejected. That has happened to me three times when I was applying for a job as a College Lecturer.
It means your skirt wasn't short enough. Or your tits weren't big enough. That's how I look at it. Although, how I'm failing on the first escapes me. And the second, now I think about it.
