No room behind the away end, a row of terraced house smack behind the side stand. The only places l can see where they can develop is two tier the main stand where the tunnel is but then they would have to get rid of the car park behind and possibly develop the Kop. Very little space to work with though. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en...tlif135038718127310&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl
Most if not all the houses on Lothair Road are derelict / boarded up. Just look at google street view.
I've had a bit of a read into it, they're going to go for compulsory purchase orders on a couple of the streets and reshape the area, it seems they're hoping to redevelop the away end and the main stand. Lothair Road is what they're hoping to get rid of.
The houses behind the main stand have been derelict for some time - they were coming down if they moved to a new stadium in the park. The anfield road end has a few houses left that they have to buy - might not be so easy . Took them years to get two old dears out when they last redeveloped
Bit of a weird one, been reading some of their forums and some posters have elderly family in L4 that have lived there for years so matter how bad the area has become they won't be moving. On the other hand if you've bought a run down terraced in one of the worst area's in Liverpool surrounded by drug addicts you'll probabaly get paid over the odds for your land. I might have a butchers on Rightmove!
As I said it took them years to move two old dears when they redeveloped the kemlyn road stand. Once the stadium has been done - there is a plan to improve the area as well. It is a bit on the grim side
Tempt em with a bag of Werthers. At least we won't ever have this problem with Grove Street, were not looking to expand to 80,000 anytime soon....
Typical, make out you are a peoples club, you care about the fans, and then kick folk out of their house!
