I just can't see us getting anywhere near that figure, especially from a team like Brentford (who appear to adopt a similar blueprint to ourselves in terms of recruitment). Let's be realistic, Pinnock is worth more to us than 2/3m (which is a more realistic figure I believe, probably with the obligatory add ons) which we'll likely be offered, so it will be a real kick in the guts if he is to leave this window, as the partnership him and Lindsay have developed could arguably blossom into one that rivals (and betters) the Roberts/Mawson one. The real sadness of it all is that football continues to die; the food chain is more vicious than ever, and even having billionnaires at the helm seems to have no impact on us being able to hold on to our prized assets. If anything, it only worsens it. Of course, this is speculation, but how many of us beleived that when Mr Lee and Co took over, all this would come to an end, and we MIGHT just be able to start building something again? I did, probably naively. I didn't think we'd be throwing millions at players, but I felt we would now be in a position not to be pushed around and have to sell at the first sign of some profit. I guess, I was wrong.
From people who are desperate to start rumours. Same as most of the ******** spouted on the internet. It's not real.
No fee mentioned in the HITC article. It only says Brentford are ready to bid. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/01/24/brentford-make-move-for-barnsley-star-pinnock/
