Went earlier this year and stopped in the Days Inn, Talbot Street. While not exactly 5* it was clean and fairly central.

Have fun, was one of the best weekends I've ever had in one of the best places.

There's a great hotel near St.Stephen's Green, think it's called No.42. Very smart, owned by an artist, some great pictures on the walls, lovely big rooms and within walking distance of the city centre, O'Connell St, Temple Bar area etc...

For a treat, the missus and I stayed at the Gresham which is classy historic and beautiful, has a gorgeous old fashioned and stately chanderliered lobby, but isn't that cheap. But is smack in the centre of town and has something of the 20s about it

I stayed on O'Connell St a few yrs ago and it was a perfect location to be based. A short walk to Temple Bar etc - Brilliant place.

I'm not so sure as we use taxi's when we're there but I would imagine the bus into the centre is pretty regular.
