this stage of the season - I thought we'd be pushing for the play offs :D

Not quite the play-offs, although I did get a bit giddy when we strung a few wins together at the start of the season.

I didn't think we'd struggle quite like this - I think the sort of form we showed in the first month or so was about my expectation...

4th from bottom and battling like hell to survive.

    Settled side, Ritchie in charge

Additional Centre Half, Midfielder, Centre Forward, making a fight of stopping up.

    Aye, that as well...

Never thought we'd be in the position we're in now. I was happy we'd kept a manager for more than a season for once. That didn't last long...

    Hanging in 20th place.

Ritchie didn't bring in the players we needed last Summer.

3 or 4 additions + a McIndoe replacement may have been enough.

    (casualty)

Keep Shuker for no fee or sign Mattis for £50K?

How can you sign players when the chairman bins the ones you've got and doesn't manage to offer enough cash to attract the ones you want to add?

    Talk about blinkers!

Southend, dead and buried a few months ago. Stuck by

the manager that had got them there, extended his contract even, now they're flying. Who'd bet against us finishing higher than them now?

Similar position to where we actually are but showing some fight and with the supporters behind them.

I expected 'Battling Barnsley' not 'Bottling Barnsley'.

Would the inflated salary he was demanding qualify as as a signing fee?#

Shuker was terrible over the last half of the season. He could neither beat a defender or get crosses into the box.

    Shuker.
    Tabb.
    Chopra.
    McPhail.
    Foster.

That almost looks like a list of Championship players, Shuker aside.
There's even a Centre Half in there - that Ritchie obviously didn't want.
Shame Gord couldn't sign any of them.

At least Davey has brought in proven Championship players - such as Mattis & McCann.

    FFS sideways.
Your University badges should be burned in front of your face.

the inflated salary that was less thanwhat heeventually settled for in League 1?

So you'd prefer spending £50K on an unprovenLeague 2 player who'd failed in League 1 previously. Remind me about your football knowledge again!

Shuck was **** over the last 30 games of last season and not worth a starting berth in the side.

Suddenly he's vital player for us. ffs.

    Aye.

I got told what qualifications you have.
I was also told that the best standard you've ever coached is a Uni team.

    If I'm wrong - I apologise - honestly.

If I'm right - then you shouldn't keep stuffing your coaching opinions in the faces of people who have coached at a much higher level.

Your opinion is yours & as valid as anyone elses.

You, however, seem to use your opinion as fact ... and hold your coaching qualifications as some type of verification.

He was offered what he was worth to the club. If another club values him more than we did thats their perogative.

No, he was turned away by Gordon Shepherd, remember?

When we were supposedly dead keen to sign players up.
