.... I dont think you can argue with the facts he mentions. Due to not needing a ticket I cant believe the arguments people have made about not being able to go. Fact of the matter is there were 6000 tickets and BFC couldnt do anything about that - Im sure if we could have had 10,000 we would have. Can you imagine Liverpool fans being told there were only 2,500 if it was being played at Oakwell. If you got in the queue and didnt get a ticket thats a shame - but people (whether real fans, hanger on'ers or liverpool fans in Barnsley) got in the queue before you. There is only one person to blame for that. Stop moaning and just be glad we have a tie that earns the reds some money - whether its your money or somebody elses. Take it easy........
But that isn't true Dan look at the facts. fact 1: the club knew that we had roughly the same amount of tickets as we have season ticket holders. 2: The club knew that there would be people without season tickets wanting a ticket (as shown by the colchester ticket stub thing) 3: The club decided to allow season ticket holders to get 2 tickets per season ticket holder. This meant that it was nailed on that not all season ticket holders would be able to get a ticket never mind those that went to the colchester game. 4. The club stated that a rule was you HAD to be there in person with YOUR season ticket to buy a liverpool ticket. This meant that a lot of season ticket holders made no arangements for someone else to go for them yesterday (why would they? the club had old them it wasnt allowed) 5. The rule mentioned in 4 wasn't followed which caused tickets to sell out on day one. I believe that a combination of facts 1 to 5 put the blame for this fiasco firmly at the feet of barnsley football club.
RE: But that isn't true Dan No matter what BFC did there were going to be a lot of unhappy fans. How do you catagorise fans? ST Holders? Most away tickets? Longest ST Holders? Most spent at club shop? The list goes on - what makes the most deserving fan? I couldnt answer that.

There 's this assumption going round that all you had to do was get there early enough butshuffling the order of the queuedoesn't change anything. The fact is that giving two tickets per ST displaced other ST holders in favour of those without one. Which early-bird queuers they were sold to is irrelevant, somebody had to be too far down the queue to get tickets if it had started forming last week.
The tickets were sold for the least cost to the club, that's what mattered.

They used to categorise them without any trouble. Season Ticket holders for the longest time , followed by the number of match tickets you had.
It was simple before , why change???

I remember when there used to be a category system It meant that right at the start of the season plans were laid out for the rest of the year and everyone knew what was going to be hapening in cups/away games etc. But regardless of who is more deserving of ONE ticket, I think that everyone agrees that simply knowing a season ticket holder shouldnt entitle you to a priority ticket don't we? And you seem to have ignored the point about the club seemingly not following its own rule which caused a lot of people not to go yesterday.
RE: But that isn't true Dan Mmmmm.... I'd say that one ticket per 5 away tickets and 5 home ticket stubs is more deserving. The argument of "Im a better fan" "I support the club more in financial terms" and "I have shown commitment to the club, why havent they to me" is endless..... You could write a list a mile long only only a hand full of Barnsley fans would be happy.
Im not syaing its right - but Im pretty sure Cryne and Shepperd didnt get together and say "right, how can we save 300 quid a day that we'd have to pay the ticket staff? Thats right, lets srew em all and have the ticket office open for just one day". These the same people who have been underwritting millions off the debt? Those who have spent fortunes (well one of them) of their own cash to fund transfers. Oh, and least we forget - fans of the club long before I was born.
bottom line get there early job done the club made it clear about the ruling. Early bird catches the liverpol ticket
I don't think Cryne or, for that matter, Shepherd will have had anything to do with it mate.
And I'm looking forward to hearing the official line.

.
