I'm sure 15/20 year ago Liverpools pen would have be obstruction and a indirect freekick.

Apart from a offside when was the last indirect freekick you saw???

The only indirect free kicks as far as I know are

    1 Offside
    2 Goalkeeper picking up a back-pass

I saw one of the latter on TV recently (can't remember the game).

Got done away with for fouls in box years ago. Used to enjoy the melee in the 6yd box with 11 men on the line.

I'm pretty sure they can still be given for a goalie picking up a back pass.

We had an indirect earlier this season

It was a home game, not sure who against. Didn't Butterfield lay it off to Drinkwater, who hit the crossbar?

It was given for a pass back btw.

WAs just thinking same. It was given for handball. (Very Harsh!!) But definatly couldn't be an indirect free kick........
