I'd like to know how these private companies get your address from registration...

...Last I heard only the police and insurance companies had access to the DVLA database (and I am not even sure about the insurance companies). I do not recall giving DVLA authority to sell my details which is surely a clear breach of the Data protection Act.

Any legal eagles on here know differently?

Incidentally I never paid the one 'ticket' I received in a Motorway services once where I spent more than 2 hours (I was knackered and had a meal and a long rest in a coffee shop) only to find a ticket (or 'invitation to pay' to give it its correct name) on my windscreen. Got one reminder and then heard not thing. Daft as there must have been hundreds of empty spaces at the time and the 'rest rooms' had loads of those 'Tiredness kills - Take a break' posters everywhere.
