....would you take on the plane to South Africa if you were Fabio? Phil McNulty has done a piece on the BBC sport website but Im not sure of some selections he'd take. I'd go for: GKs - James, Green, Robinson DEFs - A Cole, Johnson, Terry, Ferdinand, Upson, Bridge, Lescott MIDs - Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Lennon, Beckham, J Cole, Wright-Phillips, Walcott, Milner ATTs - Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Cole (or Bent) What about your lot???
My 23 would be: GK's James, Green and Foster Def's - Johnson, Ferdinand, Terry, Cole, Bridge, Upson and Jagielka Mids - Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Walcott, J Cole, Lennon, Hargreaves, Ashley Young Atts - Rooney, owen, Crouch and Defoe

i wouldnt take jagielka wud swap him with someone like woodgate or king (if can get his fitness back), n same with hargreaves. id take carrick over him

Too many injured players I rate Jagielka & Hargreaves but we'd have too many players in the squad who have been out with long term injuries who only have a few months to get fully fit and recapture their form - bit of a gamble??
Pretty good choices. Depends on injuries etc, but I'd take Heskey ahead of Carlton Cole, Hargreaves ahead of Beckham, and my fat, pale, smelly arse ahead of Wright-Phillips.
Hargreaves can play right back as well and need cover for every position and James Milner would not be good enough Big step upto international football from premier league. Don't think a gamble as both could be back playing in november and 6 months football ahead of them
RE: not a very good option though Micah Richards has to go for me, can cover two positions and id drop milner for owen. Heskey would be there too for me.
GKs - James, Green, Robinson DEFs - A Cole, Johnson, Terry, Ferdinand, Bridge, Lescottand Richards MIDs - Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Lennon, Beckham, J Cole, Wright-Phillips and Walcott ATTs - Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Owen and Heskey.

Ordinarily I'd say the same. But Rooney plays his best football alongside Heskey, and we need Rooney playing his best football. Sad, but Heskey's still by far the best targetman we've got.
RE: Wright-Phillips Would have gone for Hargreaves if he hadn't been out for 18 months....then thought Carrick but he wouldnt get a game so in the end went for the speed merchant!! He's not everyone's cup of tea but frightens the hell out of defenders and causes problems!
GKs
James Robinson Green
Def
Bridge Cole
Terry Ferdinand
Cahill Lescott
Johnson
Mid
Barry Lampard
Gerrard Beckham
Lennon Hargreaves
Walcott J Cole
Att
Rooney Heskey
Crouch Defoe
Owen

RE: Ordinarily I'd say the same. Crouch does just as well and holding it up & laying it off etc but can also score! Heskey is just useless....I think it's just a fallacy that Rooney (& Owen before him) play better along side him. Vs Ukraine Rooney (apparently) didnt have one tough in the oppositions box, so with Heskey our main strike threat we'll be lucky to get NIL
