We conceded a goal which was clear offside and then one from a clear foul on our goalkeeper <div class="mva"><div class="mva">Israel manager Dror Kashtan</div></div>
Presume he is talking about SWP's. Obviously hasn't seen any replays. As for the foul on the keeper. Owen just stood his ground.
Brilliant SWP was in an offside position when he received the ball for the first goal. Unfortunately for Israel the TV replays clearly show he was onside when the ball was played so he cant have that as an excuse As for the 3rd the keeper barged into Owen who was just standing in the 6 yard area so if anything the foul was the other way round. In any case he wouldnt have got to the ball - sometimes refs give keepers too much protection and incorrectly give a foul but few refs would have given the keeper anything for that one
No the first goal was onside The rule is when the ball was played and SWP was onside then if the rule was applied when you received the ball it would have been offside
RE: No the first goal was onside That seems to be how many linesmen apply it. You see it all the time live and on tv - instead of looking at the player making the pass and then instantly looking accross the line they invariably just look accross the line, see the player receive it and start flagging. Infuriating. Refs blow for it all the time - only in Sunday leagues have I ever seen a ref overrule a linesman for an offside decision.
'We conceded a goal which was clear offside and then one from a clear foul on our goalkeeper' ......so would that not still mean they lost 1-0?! S)
