"If the players I've got can't or won't do it i'll bring in players who can" Answer, every manager in football who's team go through a bad spell.Don't get me wrong I'm as disappointed as the next fan but we've got to give the manager a little more slack.Listening to his interview on Radio Sheffield he gave his reasons for extending last seasons "hero's"contracts I don't think anyone would begrudge those players getting new deals on what they achieved against all odds.I didn't see many complaint at the new signings he fetched in pre-season so in fairness we all hoped for a good start and a much improved season. Now for whatever reason whether it be the manager or players not up to the task or both its the managers job to try and rectify the problem.I like the look of Pederson,we've signed one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in English football,a defender in Ramage who has experience in abundance (not shown at the moment I agree) and now a very experienced midfielder in Fox.Some players will move on to other clubs that is the nature of the game. The manager now has some players who have good pedigrees at this level,it is now up to him to proof like he did last year that he's up to the task.If not like any other manager he'll have to face the consequences.
and no one begrudged them at the time either. in fact, i would say the vast majority of opinion i heard, fully support recruitment. sadly in this game, when things start going wrong, people develop very short memories and all that goes out the window. i'm as baffled as most as to why flicker is doing some of the things he is. and he needs to sort it out, quickly. but in my opinion, he deserves more time to do that.
