    Realisticly:

    Ian Dowie
    Joe Royle
    Nigel Worthington
    Kevin Blackwell
    Gary Megson
    Peter Reid
    Bryan Robson
    Bobby Williamson
    Neil Redfearn

In my opinion, that's saying we wouldn't go for anyone who is currently employed

That's unfair. He's only spent lots of millions and won f**k all. Definitely what we need.

"We're still a young side, and big things might be expected of them in the future, but not now."

"But you spent £30 million putting this 'young side' together."

    "Err..."

    RE: Blackwell

Got to feel sorry for Andy, as it is obvious from this week transfer inactivity alone that the club either can't, or won't back him to sign fresh players. Couldn't help wondering about Liam Lawrence going to Stoke and there have been others, which we might have been in for, but haven't. Really 'scraping the barrell' with some of the suggestions.

Problem is - would a new manager have any more chance? Would there suddenly be cash? Trouble is - whether through lack of investment, or lack of management, the progress has clearly stalled.

Not much chance of big name managers coming in. You can almost hear the conversations now: Shepherd "Hi! Mr O'Leary. Fancy coming to Oakwell?" O'Leary - "I'll be on a million a year then?" Shepherd, "I'm running out of credit on the club mobile. Bye!" Or - Sherpherd - "Hi, Mr Dowie. We'd like to offer you this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become manager at Oakwell." Iain Dowie, "I'll need an initial transfer kitty of two million and bring my brother in as coach." Shepherd, "I think the club mobile has just cut out, I didn't quite hear that."

If there has to be a change - and I feel very sorry for Ritchie is this happens - it would, for me, HAVE to be Kevin Blackwell. Excellent coach at Sheffield United and cheated of funds and support at Leeds - last bit sounds a bit like Ritchie at Oakwell, though!
