A supplier in China has asked for the nearest port to us which makes sense as I reckon sea miles cost a fraction of transporting a single container by road. Hull maybe?

    If it's any help

A large percentage of the steel we export goes via Goole & Immingham, some of which goes to China.

I just don't know if containers travelling so farwill be able to be directed to a specific port. I guessed the hub would be Felixstowe but could be wrong.

Local Chamber of Commerce Windy. They're usually the ones you have to see to get paperwork stamped and approved for import/export. They'll probably have the answers you need straight away.

    RE: Hull will be nearest

Most containers arriving at Hull docks tend to arrive via Rotterdam, which is the largest European port and acts as a hub for much of the Far East import.

Hull is not a viable port , could tranship to Liverpool but

felixstowe will be best bet - find out shipping line

I could clear the conatiner for you - are you paying the freight

    I work in imports
