It was just a statement from the club that was given to the Supporters' Trust meeting the other day. Don't think it said anything more than has been posted on the board already. Only those members of the Trust who were at the meeting have a right to know the contents though. I think it also confirmed that Windy was a founding member of AFC Barnsley as well (or was that another post?)
What was said at the Trust Meeting Let me make one thing clear. No statement was read out at the Supporters Trust Meeting as assumed in previous threads. There was a discussion on the issues reagarding Oakwell AM, with questions taken from the floor. From memory the questions asked were 1) Why could I only here pop music on 1575am on saturday. We answered that it was not 1575Oakwell am that he was listening to as it was not transmitting 2) What provision would there be for blind supporters at future games We discussed this at length on how one of the Trust Board (Paul G.) had worked to ensure that the blind supporters could receive the commentary from Barnsley World and that we would work to ensure that this was available in the disabled stand for the forthcoming home games) 3) Approximately 50% of those present listened to the radio commentary 4) those people generally would like a service re-introduced if feasible and voted for the trust to do a feasibility study on whether this was a viable option. Generally it was accepted that this could involve the cost of a lot of upgraded equipment. The discussion on Oakwell AM lasted about 30 minutes, with about 50% of it taken up with a discussion on issues related to the blind supporters.
Theres no wonder the trust gets criticism then if you avoided the issue all night and the trusts board didn't bother to bring up the real issue of WHY the station closed and the accuracy of barnsley fc's statement on the matter
