Thats the problem with England, we are a nation that loves a tryer and a loser.

On the basis Hamilton will win it (who in sporting terms has achieved very little - but has released a book after 9 months in the public eye) rather than Calzage who is a true sporting great and regularly shuns the public eye.

Hamilton at best should get Young Personality.

Im sorry - but he hasn't.

He did well - very well infact for a rookie in his first season. Albeit he had the best car - but the pressure got to him in the end, and parking your car in the pit lane shows he lacked the skills or temperament (or agueably both) to be a champion.

If he wins it devalues the award in my opinion...... and the vote should not be made by the public. Hamilton will win it, but only because its a more popular sport where he is seen on the T.V and papers week in week out. Calzage in my opion has been a true British sporting great for a number of years.

Calzage in his chosen sport has achieved more than Hamilton can dream of in his field - unless of course Mclaren keep giving him the best car (and not cheating in the process).

Oh right - so Mclaren's number one driver (at the start of the season) and competitor for the title didnt help Hamilton. I'm glad he didnt get the championship on the basis of someone letting him have it...........

Calzage HAD to fight Manfredo to keep hold of his belt. He didnt choose to fight him - and he openly admitted on Soccer AM that it was a joke he had to fight someone who didnt even win the contender series.

You can pick holes in the comments all you like. Hamilton was not a champion in 2007 Calzage was - well done Joe on a fantastic year, long successful career and getting the recognition you deserve.

aye and he's a smarmy big head, or from a privileged background

... last year's winner ? I think all the top three deserved to be there. I hate boxing but I'm pleased that Hatton and Calzaghe received their awards as are genuine achievers... so is Hamilton.
