I do think that the system and order should be made clear at the start of the season and stuck to for all games. Back in the 90's the system was clear and consistent. It was something like Category 1: Season ticket holder for 2+ years. Category 2: Season ticket holder for current season. Category 3: 10+ Stubs for current season. Category 3: General sale. It might not have been exactly that but I remember that the categories were quite clear and everybody knew them. If you got a big team in the cup you would instantly and automatically know 'Its ok i'm in category 1' or 'I might not get a ticket, i'm only in category 3'. These days it seems to be a lottery with a different system in place every season and sometimes different systems for different games in the same system. You've not really got a clue what priority you are until the game has been announced, the club has realised demand will be high, called a meeting and then come up with a system. Now as I said, I think the system for the Man City game looks pretty good from first glances but my point is that the club needs to sit down in the near future and come up with a proper system that they stick to. It could even be included in the customer charter.
Agree on the clarifying of categories. I actually think a lot of late 90's - early 2000's ideas and ways of doing things were a lot better than current practices.
The problem with that is the club doesn't use it's computer system properly at all. If one person goes to buy 4 tickets for a cup game with 4 season tickets (to save time) then all 4 have the same name on them so the computer has credited all 4 tickets to one persons season ticket. Same with away games. For your system to work they would have to ensure each ticket has the right name on and matches the right season ticket.
membership card from the start of next season Gold Card for people who can produce so many away stubs from this season Silver Card Bronze Card that way your regular away day reds get the best seats and such like, but to be honest you cant moan about the way they've done it this time
I usually find it easy to work out, but the system's been ruined this year because we've not played Colchester.
I'm bidding on this just in case anything changes http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/09-08-2003-Ticket-Barnsley-v-Colchester-United-Heavy-/370758033886?
