Whilst I think YNs 'gushing' headline below re last night....

...is way OTT, I cannot understand some of the extreme negative comments from some others on here . For example someone posted that they would run naked round Oakwell if we finish higher than 24th!! (Not an image I wish see or to retain in my head)
If they perform like that on a regular basis against most teams in this division we will finish comfortably mid table. WBA were the slickest passing side I have seen us play against this season with some very skilful individaul play coming from players costing more than our 11 players on the field. Disappointing that we could not hold on but who, in all honesty expected that performance and that we would get a point after recent events.
I sometimes wonder if some of the regular posters on here are actually Barnsley 'fans'. Constructive criticism is fine but after last nights match? Really??

 

Nudger’s gush last night was every bit as extreme an opinion as those who say we are doomed to finish 24th.

Though both are valid enough opinions. We were ok at points last night and we might finish bottom.

For what it’s worth I think we can stay up, though this is dependant on few injuries and suspensions, plus a decent January where we add and don’t lose any key players.

Whether it happens is another thing. We can, we won’t do it necessarily though. At the moment we sit where we deserve to in the table. You don’t get points for looking ok and trying.

 

I thought we were excellent last night for most of the game, looked threatening with the speed we moved up the pitch, worked tremendously hard. We limited the top of the table to rare chances. Superb performance undone by a couple of lapses at the back
