I must have been sat at Bramall lane, Palace fans louder than our own, couldn't hear the reds fans? I used to think the same until l moved from the away end of the East to the Ponty, our fans get behind em as good as any other home support but it's just lost in the mass open space that is Oakwell. Once we do something with the corners and the West the noise inside will improve ten fold.

Credit to the 228 who made the trip to Barnsley, but they were silent just about all game. Whitey should avoid being our own version of Brian The Blade. Not in what he said but by trying to get on air so often. Less is more.

We could spend millions doing the ground up or the east stand could make some noise for free.

Ponty end is our Kop.. traditionally & usually, these are the noisiest stands

Many times the Ponty end is mute. Admittedly the East stand could contribute more to the atmosphere, like the old Brewery stand used to. but it is the Ponty that should take the lead.
Incidentally, why do people sit in the Ponty and never sing?

THIS is a successful season we are having. even when i sit in the corner stand you can hear it behind a big glass window.
fans are gradually coming back so when we achieve a bit something near on 12k it will be hard to miss the singing.
sometimes it is currently very audible ,lets not be negative and get behind the hill croft express and MAKE SOME NOISE.
question 1 are we becoming a successful team --answer yes
question 2 is the football the best for a long time yes
question 3 have we a lot to be happy about yes
question 4 do we fear relegation no
question 5 when its not always going our way should we get behind the team and give moral support and lift them(still a lot of players are young men learning there trade)give them the confidence to believe in themselves....up to everyone who watches Barnsley fc.

Spot on mate.. the irony is though

if fans of other clubs criticised us for a lack of atmosphere /noise etc. they'd soon be rounded upon by us. Including some who have probably previously criticsed likewise.

Thats fair enough and understandable especially in todays economic climate. However, people sitting in there moaning about other parts of the ground not singing seems a tad unjust.

I sit behind the goals and think the Ponty is spot on noise wise, it doesn't carry to the rest of the ground though. You don't hear away fans sat in their unless it's a 3-6000 travelling support. Wish they'd fill in the North East corner.

How can you not except that the atmosphere could be better the first half against Palace was very quiet maybe we still lack believe in the team?

It's alright if one of our fans is on once a week to give a decent in depth round up of the week. It's when someone goes on two or three times a week like Brian The Blade and they end up going over the same points because nothing has happened since their last call.

From 'Whitey - LEGEND' to Adrian Durham comparisons.. :D
Ah well, tha cant please all of the people all of the time.
Glad Ossetred understood my point though. And whilst the Palace fans remark was OTT, my call was only aimed at uniting the crowd behind the team thru good and bad. As I said, its easy to join in the sing-songs when we are winning, but a supportive crowd is far more vital when the lads are struggling.
But Albert makes a good point, and yes, 'less is more'. And despite only calling the show 10 times this season, I have been on 3 times in the last 2 week. So point taken, and much love to you all. Except thereev who bores me to tears, and James similarly.. ;)
    HRAWA!
